She laughed while doing it. Caleb had bled for Zane. He had risked his life on that yacht. He had been nothing but supportive for two years. Yet Stacy warned me not to trust him. And now there was a folder on my phone called “Tessa’s Secrets.” I pressed my forehead against the edge of Zane’s bed and whispered into the darkness, “What do I do?” I couldn’t tell Richard. They ended the call. Tessa changed her clothes and left the house later that afternoon. She told her mother she was going to see a friend. Diana did not ask many questions. She was still angry about other things in the house. Tessa arrived at Gabriel’s house with the envelope in her bag. Her heart was beating fast. She felt proud of herself. Gabriel opened the door with a bright smile. “Baby,” he said softly. She smiled and walked in. The house was quiet. “I’m alone,” he said.

I just want to get myself some tequila from the bar inside the resort." Again, I catch the uneasiness in her voice. She is also rubbing her palms repeatedly over her dress, and Lisa does not have sweaty palms. "Oh. . . .ok." I stutter out, also suddenly feeling like I should give her some space. "I will just tell Sandra and Ethan that you are at the bar."
