Selene's POV. I sat on my bed scrolling through my I*******m feed, checking up on what had been going on in the past few weeks because I realized that a lot had been happening that I had not paid attention to. Such as the marriage between Gina Hayes and Richard Knowles. I scanned their feed for the wedding video. Everything was looking so crisp and clean, and I imagine how it would seem if I was truly getting married again to the real love of my life and not something that my parents pushed me into because I practically had no choice.

"I never signed the papers." "You didn't—you're lying." "I'm not," he said, his tone serious. "You can't be serious." "I'm dead serious, Selena. We're still married."

“What? Does she have a lover already? Then why the fuck did she accept this proposal in the first place?” Selena gave Dante a stupid look as if surprised he was this dump. “They got engaged at a young age, remember?” Selena reminded him, releasing her hair which was tied up in a bun at the top of her head. “Oh yeah, I forgot.” He sighed and released a sheepish smile. Marco shook his head at them and looked away immediately. “She said she would do anything it takes to end this charade of a marriage.” Marco also added. “Who is her man? I mean who is this lover of hers?” Dante asked curiously and Selena threw him a look that said he should keep his damn mouth shut.

"It's been a long time, George. I'm back. Your position and Selena should all be returned to me now." Adam was Selena's first love. They'd been in a six-year relationship, from high school to just shy of the wedding aisle. But when Adam went abroad for studies, Selena's family started pressuring her to marry, and I was the one she was set up with. We'd been married for five years, living in mutual respect. I had thought she'd genuinely accepted me as her husband, but now… I laughed bitterly. It turned out that it was all just to make room for Adam. She had never cared about me.

She said, with rage in her eyes. “Selena,” “When did it all start?” she asked, without caring what I was about to say. “What started?” “Your intimate bond with your boss, who is now your husband. When was the first time you two held hands?” “Selena. Oh God, just listen to me.“ I was thinking of telling her the truth. The truth that only me and Gavin knew, the truth about this marriage, the bond she was talking about. I wanted to tell her everything, but something stopped me. It was the promise that I made to Gavin before agreeing to marry him.

Selena coughed, “Yes, of course, we are,” and with a lovely smile, she looked over at me with... love in her eyes. “We are.”

I stopped moving when I got in front of him, my heart now beating so fast. “Selena…” he called, his voice very calm like he didn’t believe this was finally happening. I didn’t believe it either. The priest saying the vows made us know this was not a dream but a reality. “Do you Selena take Lorenzo to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold,from this day forward,for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to live and to cherish,till death do you part?”

Lucas shrunk his shoulder, looking at her again. "You'll learn with time. I know I did. And I'll be here to help you. Once we get married and unite our packs, we both will be the leaders, so… I think that will be easier for you. Unless you start disagreeing with me, so that could be a little problem for us." he said kissing her neck provocatively. Selena was paralyzed. He had finally mentioned a marriage. But despite being radiant and delighted, Selena became sad immediately. For a moment, she had forgotten about the forced marriage her father arranged for her.

His eyes were lively and adorable. Selena patted his head. “Do you want to go to bed?” Chance nodded and happily returned to his room. Selena took a deep breath before she went to the bedroom. Eric just finished the phone call and went over to hug her with a smile on his face. “This feels like a dream. Speaking of which, I should actually thank Lara. If it weren’t for her, we wouldn’t be able to get married so soon!” Selena laughed. “Mr. Ferguson, are you that happy to be married? The woman you just married is now an unemployed slacker!”
