“He’s the one who protected Rowan. The one who came for me.” Seris blinked once. Then twice. And then the room shattered like glass. They were back in the clearing. Only now, Seris was standing outside the cradle, hand in Rowan’s, her feet barely touching the ground. “I remember,” she said. “My name is Seris. I am the Third Flame.” A roar split the sky. Overhead, the Ash Moon cracked. From its depths poured a darkness thicker than night, swirling into a vortex above the tree. The Hollows screamed as the light burned them away, but in their place rose something far worse.

Shimpi snored lightly. Terese blew out the lamp after placing the charm book in one of the drawers in Shinja's dressing table. Then she headed to the window that was letting in azure moonbeams like that of a calm clear ocean whose waves swayed effortlessly, she began mumbling to herself in deep thought and concentration.

she screamed manically. Avamarie lifted her arms and pulled two trees out of the ground behind her. With a twist the saplings exploded sending bark and wood flying everywhere. When the chips settle the two pieces were formed into spears then she flicked her wrists and sent them flying at Jenevive. Jenevive swiped a hand in front of her and a wall of fire sprung up incinerating the trees on contact. She pushed her hands forward and the wall sped across the clearing straight at Avamarie. I was shocked that there was not a single blade of grass burned in its wake.

I said, unsure. "Ah! You mean Ruhun Daji's high priestess.." the woman corrected us. I was about to speak when she continued her sentence, "my name is Aishatu. I am a priestess. Safia is Ruhun Daji's high priestess, not the deity." She clarified, and I nodded. There was no point arguing with this woman. I knew what we saw, and I saw the fear in the eyes of the council and the Sarki himself. No priest or priestess could give the Sarki orders. The woman led us to a hut, asked us to wait by the door and went in. A few minutes later, she ushered us in.

**Haru:** “Missed you too, sis.” Seras pulls back—hands on his shoulders—then her eyes flick past him. To Mia—standing a step behind, still in Haru’s hoodie, silver hair wild, amber eyes huge and stunned. Seras’s smile softens—knowing, warm. **Seras:** “And you must be Mia.” Mia freezes—mouth open, breath caught. She’s staring at living history. I said to myself. Alpha Ryu stood before the pack in his red and black royal robe and a stringent smile that I had never seen before. I doubt the pack members have seen it too, as they also couldn’t believe it, washing their faces several times with water just to confirm. “I would like to thank my personal maid, as she was the one who washed these dishes. She has quite the guts to wash five hundred thousand, five hundred and fifty-four plates with not a single stain on them. She’s pretty much more excited about it than the rest of us”. He chuckled. “Show me what you’ve got, Samantha.”
