Serpent And The Wings Of Night Series 소설 & 이야기

"Good God!" She had seen pictures in books, many owned by her and her brother back in their role-playing days, and she had seen images on movie screens and paintings, but nothing compared . . . nothing could have prepared her for this. Wings of leather carrying aloft of muscular reptilian body . . . legs tucked underneath the body with a long, barbed tail coming out the back and a serpentine neck coming out the front. And those eyes . . . even in Shamira's Shadow Sight, they glowed an angry red.

Albian had arrived just in time to see the smoke, hear the cries of the people, and taste the Dragon Fear. He watched as the daylight was slowly blotted out by huge wings, balls of fire, and a dark fog. It was almost dark as night, though sunset was still a few hours off. As he stood atop that hill, he cried at the scene before him knowing any aid he might have offered would never be enough. “I've come too late...” He cried.

Rowena's eyes bulged at the sight of the snake necklace on Chloe's neck. She stared in disbelief at Chloe's stunning face as the branding iron dropped from her grasp. "Are you Chloe, the serpent clan's princess? What are you saying? Weren't you supposed to marry Hank? He's already bound to me, so what are you doing here?!" Watching Chloe extend her hand to me, Rowena felt a surge of dread. Chloe smiled, and she raised her eyebrows playfully as our fingers interlaced.

Serenya stood in the center of the blaze, her eyes glowing gold-white, her hair whipping in the heat. “Serenya, you’ll burn—” She looked at him and shook her head. “No. This isn’t fire.” The flames lifted like wind, swirling around her, forming wings of light that unfurled behind her shoulders. The runes on the stones beneath her feet reignited, glowing in response to her awakening power. Maelis hissed. “So it begins.” She spread her hands, summoning darkness to counter the light. The two forces collided with a sound like shattering glass, sending shockwaves through the ruins.

The burning wings flapped off fiery plumes to the Grand Serpent's barrier and his serpentine silver eyes were locked on him. Meanwhile, Rachelia was not to be ignored so she created a storm of rose petals. This time, it was in an overwhelming amount that latched themselves on the barrier. Some of them exploded or just vibrated as they tried to broke the barrier. The Grand Serpent hissed and just as Lars expected, the creature turned out to be counting more on his sight.

The storm outside was deafening, a torrent of rain and wind that blurred the city into a mess of shadows. Sera could feel the weight of the world shifting beneath her feet as she clung to Caelum’s back, his powerful wings cutting through the night air like blades of moonlight. Each beat of his wings was a pulse of energy, a surge of something ancient and alive, and she could feel the power radiating from him, like a living storm.

I noticed from the corner of my eyes that the whole hall was now watching what I was. It yanked it's hand out of her chest and pretty blue dress, bringing out of it a red pumping organ. Her heart. She fell to the floor motionless and it squished her heart in its fist and dropped it to the floor beside her in a thump. It raised it's bloody hand and I could make out that it licked it's palm. "The Draekien..." Morpheus whispered beside me. I sucked in a breath as it moved and something dark fluttered in its wake. Are those.... wings?! I didn't have much time to ponder on it as the thing finally spoke.

“MAKE WAY!” The Skyblade Warriors marched in, their black armor gleaming under the light. The crowd immediately went silent, parting to clear a path down the aisle. But Prince Draven wasn't walking between them. Instead, a warrior stepped forward, holding a massive and terrifying blade. The steel was dark with silver markings. The warrior stopped before the altar, bowing a little to the King before turning to the seer. "The commander has sent his sword to represent him in the binding." the warrior's deep voice echoed through the silent hall.

(QUEEN SERAPHINA’S POINT OF VIEW) Seraphina closed her eyes and reached out with her mind. She didn't look for Sofia this time. She looked for every vampire, every thrall, and every creature of the night that owed its existence to her blood. She tapped into the ancient, psychic network that bound her people together—the Great Web of the Nocturnal Court. It was a massive, humming consciousness, and she was the spider at its center.

Chapter 43 – Fang and Fang The forest screamed with movement. Serpent-kin clawed their way up the ridge, shadows streaking through the underbrush like knives. Raven’s claws extended fully, her vision bleeding silver as her wolf lunged against the cage of her ribs. “Hold!” she barked, her voice raw and commanding. Luca didn’t listen. He was already in motion, blades flashing silver in the moonlight as he cut down the first serpent that reached them.
