Damn it! I seriously needed to get a stronger grip on these intrusive thoughts. They were coming in too hot, too fast, and at the worst possible times. I pushed the door open when the smell of old books hit me instantly, it was wild, almost refreshing, the scent of ink also wafted through my nose as I stepped inside. I trailed my fingers through the shelves. It was dirty, dust had covered most of the books. I saw my favourite chair sitting in the far end of the room. It looked to be in the same position that I left it months ago. It was weird. Didn't it suggest that no one had been in here since I left?

Nelly noticed the worry lines on Inez's forehead and asked, "Is everything okay?" Inez hesitated for a moment, debating whether to confide in Nelly.
