Reacting swiftly, I positioned the sword's blade against my shoulder, ready to strike as the beast drew closer. "Hisss!" I held my breath as the dominus drew near, and then with a powerful motion, I swung the sword with all my might. The blade cut through the air swiftly, cleaving through the serpent's body. The dominus thrashed wildly before its severed body sprayed forth black blood. Its head and body crashed to the ground simultaneously, lifeless.

The serpent, equally determined, thrashed against the currents with primal fury. In a moment of sheer adrenaline-fueled determination, I seized the serpent's neck, sinking my fangs deep into its flesh. The serpent, weakened and disoriented, succumbed to the relentless assault. In a final, daring maneuver, I exploited a moment of vulnerability in the serpent's defense. I lunged with all his remaining strength, sinking his teeth into a critical area. The serpent convulsed, its form writhing in agony. I seized the opportunity to break free from the constricting coils.

She crashed against its body and fell to the ground with a thud. The serpent hissed angrily and looked at the crumpled mass in front of it.

I leapt through the air, blade slicing through the mist. The Serpent raised her hand, but this time I was ready—I threw a seal, burning through her illusion for just a second. And in that second, I saw something that turned my stomach. Behind her, woven into the fabric of her cloak, were souls. Dozens. Maybe hundreds. Faces screaming soundlessly in white fire. Wolves. Humans. Children. All feeding her power.

If I didn’t know any better, I would have said it was studying me. Another throb went through me. Then another. I squeezed my eyes shut. The feeling was becoming too much. He stated and the demon gave a smile. “Sorry he’s out.” The man was fast came forward and fired at Jormungand. It hit him high in the shoulder and he barely flinched. However everyone suddenly started running when a man wasn’t there anymore, but a massive serpent. He took up a large portion of the room. The demon before him was snapped up in his jaws and consumed in seconds. Much like a snake, he then went after all the rest in the room. Serenity stayed by the door, and two came at her to try to get out.
