Serpent Dragons Novels & Stories

The top portion of his body rolled up and loomed over her, peering down his nose at his prize. He was magnificent. Large, the dark serpent was like black obsidian, the majority of his scales iridescent with a blue and green shift. Even his ventral belly scales were black, the only other color on his body being a flame red stripe on either side, connecting from his lime green eyes all the way down to the tip of his tail. The elegant sight was lost on Shuule however, looking up wide eyed in terror. The snake had not shifted. Staying female didn't work. She figured he was about to eat her after all.

it rumbled. The copper-colored slanted pupil eyes that matched her scales stared at Isabelle for a long time and made it feel like ants danced along her skin. “I think not. Wait outside the chamber if you must, but you will not like our discussion.” With a snapping of teeth that made Isabelle jump, the first dragon turned and scraped its body out of the opening and stomped away. “I’m D'Kohralx Vorian Churgo Desmonda.”

“Who are you? And why do you disturb my slumber?” A deep mature female voice resounded in the chamber. Matthew got a good look at Cobalt. She was lindwurm type dragon with a long flat tail like a crocodile’s. Her arms were webbed and had fins on the side. She had deep blue eyes and frills on her cheeks. She also had three horns on top of her head that curved to the back. The scales on most of her body were dark blue from her spiked spine and became lighter as it went to her under belly until it was white. Upon better look, Matthew noticed that she had gills behind the frills.

Bethel frowned for a moment, “Well from a baby really, she would summon cakes from the kitchen and she would summon Lady Persephone’s son’s toys to play with. It was quite amusing really.” Helga’s eyes narrowed, “Seraphina, you are such a mystery.” She shook her head. “What do you mean?” Bethel questioned. “Well if we just consider the facts first, she is a Dragon Dhampir, a Dhampir with a familiar is rare enough yet, to have a Dragon familiar? I know I don’t need to tell you how rare that is,” Bethel nodded at Helga. “She also carries Alexandria’s Genesis, she has the markings for spirit, she-” Helga’s face paled as a thought came to mind.

From there he watched. He watched the weapon fire. He watched the Circle rise in answer. He watched the dragons retaliate not with annihilation, but with precision. And then he watched something he did not understand at all. Mercy. Draynor ships landing in fractured cities. Dragon healers kneeling in rubble. Flame used not to consume but to mend. Sereth had been forged as a weapon. Bound. Conditioned. His power was harvested and directed for centuries by Dawlya hands that feared him as much as they depended on him.

The points of light formed the outline of a dragon, but the longer he looked, the more something about it felt wrong. This dragon wasn't like the ones in the Dragon Abyss. The true dragons there were five-clawed creatures, formed from the traditional composite: rabbit eyes, deer antlers, an ox muzzle, a camel's head, a clam's belly, tiger paws, eagle talons, fish scales, and a serpent's body. They weren't winged lizards. Yet the figure on the wall, though it strove toward a serpentine shape, had an abdomen that bulged in a way that resembled folded wings pressed flat against its body.

“Please, don’t put him in danger.” ‘Him. So the Dragon was a male salamander, then,’ Araheen thought. Aktaeon closed his eyes and lowered his head. Even as Nalini’s screams pierced the air, he remained silent. It went on for another hour, and Araheen endured the churning in her stomach as the relentless screams echoed around her. Her father had the guards place another set of Iron Maws on both salamanders, yet still, neither would reveal anything about the Dragon.

"That I can't have kids?" I squirmed, about to compliment her, but she hugged me tight. Her eyes sparkled like green jewels as she looked at me. "Honey, do you want to?" Her eyes cast a spell on me, and I nodded, my face warm. During the Bonding Ceremony, I felt so warm and fuzzy. "Why's it so soft?" Chloe winked at me. "Honey, you forgot. I'm from the Serpent race. We're naturally..." Later that night, she showed me that other rumors were wrong too.

Jackson, leaning forward with keen interest, interrupted, “Does it happen instantly? Or does it take time?” Shaking his head with a mysterious expression, Dragon replied, “There’s no fixed rule. Sometimes, the feeling is immediate and powerful. Other times, it’s gradual, like slowly discovering a missing piece of yourself.” But Jerry, not entirely satisfied with the answer, gave Dragon a challenging look. Suddenly, he asked a question that was like a stone dropped into still water: “And you, Dragon? Who is your mate?”

’ David had never heard or seen this before. There were no serpents on Earth, only snakes. Serpents and dragons only appeared in mythology.
