The next chain of events I regretted instantly, and wished I had never listened to Coal.
“All right! Let's meet your wolf,” Grayson said as he closed his laptop, pushed back his chair, and stood.
“You don't know how much I needed this break,” Grayson said as he began walking around his desk, obviously expecting that we were going outside.
I gave Coal one last pleading look, only for him to mouth the word “now”.
I don't know why I listened to him, but I did. I dropped the walls that held Shade back. As Grayson rounded his desk, he looked up and stopped when he saw Shade's red eyes and the smoke barreling from my body.
