Jay looked at his mate. “A Shadow wolf?” He questioned with furrowed eyebrows. “They are any ancient line of Elite Guards created by the Moon Goddess.” Ali whispered. “They’ve been gone for over one hundred years. It was said that their main pack was dispatched by... well, I’m not sure who but their numbers dwindled.

A hollow, distorted smile stretches across my peeling lips. "Perfect..." I whisper into the quiet room. She twisted mid-fall, summoning wings of burning energy that unfurled behind her — made of light and shadow fused with blood. The Blood Empress had risen. She landed softly, barefoot now, her body glowing from within. “You talk about power, Valen. Murmuring. A shadow emerged from the shattered stones, coalescing like smoke into a corporeal form. It took shape as a figure—tall, cloaked, and devoid of a face. Its voice slithered through the courtyard. "Daughter of the cursed moon." Ember tensed. Kai pushed her behind him, his claws partially formed. "Reveal your identity!" The shadow chuckled. "You seek a name from that which was never intended to exist?" Lysandra lifted her staff. The atmosphere around her crackled with energy. "This power… it predates the Temple."

Sinister’s POV I should hate this girl. She's nothing but problems. And yet, I find it most difficult to stare away right now. Her dark hair tousled down her back and over her shoulder as she leaned against the leather interior of the limo. She pressed her head gently against it as her eyes grew wary and distant. She'd been peeling the dead skin off her fingertips subconsciously since we got in here. Were the heels really that high? I shouldn't have asked the lady for the best pair. I should have just gone with the most comfortable pair. It was my fault. But how was I to know she couldn't walk in them? How was I to know anything about her?
