I Am Mustafin
My voice comes raw, broken.
He shoves me out into the dark hallway with enough force to make me stumble, and this time when I catch myself against the wall, I hear the click of the lock behind me. Then the sounds begin—glass shattering, wood splintering, his voice raising in fury that carries equal parts rage and anguish.
I stumble to the door, my palm against finding the heavy wood, tears falling freely as I listen to him destroy his office. Each crash feels like confession, each sound of breaking things carrying the weight of everything I’ve broken between us.
