I stayed curled up like that, a broken, trembling heap, listening to the sound of his footsteps fading down the long hallway, listening to the silence that remained. Eventually, the tears started again. Silent. Bitter. Unstoppable. And I just lay there, staring at the faint sliver of moonlight cutting across the floor, a cold, indifferent witness to my ruin, waiting for morning to come, knowing with a terrible certainty that it would bring with it no solace, no escape, only a new set of rules to obey, a new set of bruises to conceal. My world had shattered, and I was left to navigate the sharp, treacherous fragments alone.

Seraphina’s POV The silence in the wrecked kingdom stands in the air - it's like a blanket that spreads all over everything around me - the heart of the kingdom, the streets that once took me down on their wild dreams are now dead, those stone walls that were once pillars of strength are cracked and fallen like a dream broken. I’m just standing here, in the middle of what’s left. Everything’s broken. Everything’s gone. I keep looking, hoping it’ll turn back into what it was. But it won’t. It’s all just ruins. Of course a big fight was going to ensue with Sampson and Odessa winning and living happily ever after. The Beautiful Silence- Jocelyn was finally going to break though Lola's locked memories and find where Gunner was hiding. Since her memories would be unlocked Lola was able to return to her normal life with her second chance mate, Paul. They finally track down Gunner and destroy him. Trinity goes back with Antonio and Lorenzo to their pack and Jocelyn becomes Luna of Quinton's pack.

"What? Do you think I'm making this up to scare you?" The warm light from above cast a slanted shadow on the edge of the table. He stared at me, and for once, didn't rush to deny anything. "You broke up with me…because of this?" I almost laughed. "Does it even matter now? Even if I were healthy, I never would have lasted long enough for you to finally turn around and look at me. I overheard your friends talking. Apparently, I wasn't even someone you'd be willing to settle for. I used to think we'd actually make it to the end."

He collapsed on top of me, his body a heavy, warm weight, still buried deep inside her. The silence that followed was not peace. It was a void. A ringing, white-hot, and holy emptiness where two souls had just been annihilated and remade. In the darkness, there was only the sound of their shattered breathing, and the slow, wet, and final pulse of him, still deep inside her. Fuck! There was no going back now

Not even a whisper dared to break the quiet. Because right there, in that thick, suffocating silence, Kael's world had just shattered. Piece by agonizing piece. As the ruins settled around him, heavy and undeniable, no one stepped forward. No one tried to mend what was broken. No one even bothered to pretend. They simply stood there, frozen, as the truth finally sank in. And Kael? He didn't move either. He just stared, as if trying to pinpoint the exact moment everything had slipped through his grasp, and whether there was anything left to hold onto at all. Or if this was simply the moment he finally lost everything.
