She rarely had any days off and today, she seemed to want to live it up. I was so used to seeing her in her old and worn uniform that the outfit that she wore today was definitely out of character. You would think her to be the kind of girl who wears a cute sundress with boots and some cowgirl hat, or something along those lines. She seems like such an innocent soul and even with her yellow coloured hair and eyebrows, she looks like a happy go lucky sweet girl.

“You look adorable.” She scrunched her nose at me and planted her hands on her hips. Tapping the toe of her combat boot into the dirt, she grumbled, “I was going for sexy, daring, totally badass.” “You’re all of those things, but you’re still cute. Trust me, there isn’t a warrior here today that won’t follow your command.” “Do you think they’re mad at me?”

She said with a cheerful smile. Oh yeah she definitely looked awesome. Her face was filled up with glow and her responses were full of sarcasms. And don't get me started on her dress today. She was wearing this amazing floral pink and white maxi dress giving off her cute vibes. I was absolutely in love with her cute hairstyle and white open strap anklet heels. That cute crushable style really stood out today and that's what I told her. After what felt like five minutes of praising and hyping each other up, we were interupted by Charlie.

She still has orange peel on her chin. “You’re kidding.” “Nope.”

“Someone is happy this morning. Did something good happen to you?” I playfully raise my eyebrows. “I don’t know. Maybe.” She giggles and tucks the tissues around the top of my shirt. “At least you are in a good mood. Yesterday, you looked like you were going to rip someone apart or blow up if anyone talked to you.” She leans closer to me. “I like this side of you much better. To be honest, you look like you’re glowing. Whatever you did, I hope you keep doing it. You are more beautiful with this look.”

Or too dumb. She has barely changed since I last saw her. She looked a little older but that was it. She still looked very beautiful in such an unreal way, her eyes were still large and innocent, like she was still yet to see the darkness lurking around every corner here on earth. She was still slender and tiny, her lips were still full and so kissable, the only difference was her lack of glasses perched on her cute nose. I wanted to ask a bunch of times when we spoke, but I refrained from doing that. I had a thing for those glasses of hers, I still do.

She looked gloomy and upset. She was dressed in a casual outfit, and her hair was messy. She had not removed her makeup, and her makeup was totally messed up. Adeena looked at her. “Didn’t you go on a date today? Why do you look like this?” “Haha!” Ruth chuckled in resignation, and her voice was filled with mockery. She casually tucked her hair. “I’m hungry. Let’s go out and eat. I want to drink some alcohol.” Today was the dimmest day in her life.

What if I read that fast and didn't notice she said today and not Friday. God. I went back to my text messages and tried to re-read what she sent me. She didn't say today. It still read on Friday, but God where could she be...? Just then, the door opened and she walked in looking as beautiful as ever. Her hair was cut fresh and died black, it made her look even more sexier. She had this beautiful smile on her face that sooner disappeared, "oh God. What's wrong? What happened at work? Are you okay?"

"I think that you'll be happy to know that today's the last day. You won't have to see my ugly mug anymore than you have to." I met her gaze, wondering what she meant. She inhaled sharply. "Next week would make it four and winter break starts from then," She tore away from my gaze. I knew that though. It seemed she misread what I was questioning. "You're not ugly," I stated. "Huh?" She looked dubious. I don't know why she said that. Or why I said that. But it's the truth. Cora was wearing an oversized red flannel shirt with grey cargo pants, her long, black hair in a braid instead of the usual ponytail, her glasses slightly misted and cheeks flushed because of the cold.
