She may be unable to look away from his beautiful, piercing blue eyes. However, she was only a few steps away from the entrance when the rain began to pour heavily. She's getting smaller and smaller. What's the deal with the rain? When the heavens cries, she despises it. She cried for no apparent cause at all too! She went to bed and wrapped herself in a blanket; all she wants to do now is relax so that she can face another struggle in her life tomorrow.

Suddenly she forgot basic words and really felt like an idiot. "Cut the cackle, Jasmine. Now co-" but before he could continue the clouds rumbled and the next second the rain pitter-pattered on the roof. Both of their heads snapped to the outside before a grin appeared on her face. It's raining! And she loves them the most. Isn't it beautiful when the rain pours? That sweet pitter-patter sound, the soothing cold wind, the fresh earthy scent. God! Her foot is itching to run outside and play in the rain.

She placed her chin on her hand as she smiled dreamily at the ceiling, "tell me about the tall buildings, tell me about the movie stars and Beyonce. Tell me about the rain, tell me about dates and tell me about cars." I laughed at that, "well, I've never met Beyonce, but when I do see her on TV she's glorious. I love tall buildings as well, except the appropriate word is sky scraper. Uhm, you've never seen rain before?" I asked her, frowning, "does it not rain here ?" She laughed, throwing her head back, "I've seen rain, but I've never touched it or anything. Look at me, I'm tiny. Raindrops are like stones to me, so if I did step out into the rain, it'll be suicide."

Maybe he answered through lightning and thunder. “I WANT HIM! I LOVE HIM!” She screamed and the rain poured hard like a typhoon. The fire died making the place dark. The waves are getting stronger as her tears fall and the rain falls too. I held her close to me and spread my wings. It is time for us to go.

She smiled faintly as I reached out to stroke her cheek. “Tell me something about you,” I whispered. She looked surprised. “What?” I inquired. “It’s just… been a long time since anyone wanted to get to know me,” she admitted. “I’m your mate. Shouldn’t I know everything about you?” She chuckled softly. “I think you should.” “Tell me.” “Hmm… I like the rain,” she said. “But I don’t want to get caught in it.” I laughed and nodded. “I like the rain too, but I don’t mind running in it.”

She looked ahead, buying herself a few seconds to think. “Rainy season.” The answer slipped out naturally. Adrian smiled. “Really?” She nodded. “I like the sound of rain.” She laughed softly. “It always made me feel…” She stopped herself. Made me feel safe at the orphanage. The words nearly escaped. She quickly corrected herself. “…peaceful.” Adrian watched her thoughtfully. “I didn’t expect that answer.” “What did you expect?” “Summer.” She laughed. “Why?” “You always complained that rain ruined your shoes.”

The warmth feels like grace. Around noon, it begins to rain. Lightly at first, then heavier, like the sky is remembering something too. She doesn’t move. She’s never hated the rain he did. He used to pull her away from windows when the thunder rolled, like the sound alone could undo her. She smiles now, remembering that. He had always wanted control. She had always wanted calm.
