I said, bowing at the waist. Abernathy was a remarkable looking creature. Our wings were similar, though his were a beautiful metallic shade of gold while mine were black. The way he held them draped over his back reminded me of a glorious cape. On either side of his face and under his chin was a mane of wavy hair. The top layers of his scales shone like molten gold. The scales underneath glistened in ambers and bright yellow. He yawned, exposing his razor-sharp teeth as he shook his head. "What brings you into my lair," he said, his voice booming against my bones.

“Catriona! Do something! He won’t let me go!” Abriel didn’t even flinch at the sound of my voice. His gaze remained locked on his father, his small body radiating a power I hadn’t realised he possessed. The glowing orb around Jayden pulsed brighter for a moment as if reacting to Abriel’s emotions.

The confused Slamet touched it and a king figure with serpent-like legs and whip on his right hand came out from his bracelet. It gave him a cold gaze intimidating him. “That’s Abraxas, Your Ribo who is the incarnation of your power, and the bracelet itself is your Jowa, the source of your power.” Varet said. “Iru? Jowa? What are you talking about, anyway?!” Slamet looked terrified.

I said, and I meant it. Beta Gideon was nowhere as tall as Alpha Rhodes, but he was thick and stocky and clearly strong. He held a commanding presence, but his wide smile was reassuring and trustworthy. He had deep, espresso coloured skin and rich brown eyes, and his face was lined with age and laughter.
