Realizing how long he had left her text messages unread and unanswered, he thought of the best way to communicate with her again and apologize for ghosting her all this time. Ghost smiled at him and sat down admiring the house and after about two minutes, Steve looked up at him. “I’m done sir,” Steve smiled. “Take a look at it for yourself.”

He drew closer and he couldn’t look me in the eye, I noticed. ‘Red?!’ I reached out to him. ‘What is happening right now?! Please, I’m scared!’ But it was like he was blocking me, and I didn’t know if my mental message to him even went through. That fucker had gone and ghosted me!

I went quiet afterward, but barely five minutes later, I spoke again. “Asking for a friend. Do you think it's a good idea to punish a man who cheated and even got his mistress pregnant?” I asked. “I wouldn't know because I'm not in that position, ma'am,” he simply responded. Frustration gnawed at my chest. He wasn't giving me the response I wanted, and I couldn't exactly tell him the full story. I needed someone to talk me out of the crazy idea forming in my head.

At six I’m calling that close enough. “You need to think about this streaming thing,” Ghost says, nursing his own drink. “The cam-girl shit. She quit cold. Talk to her. I wished that I had invited him. My fingers moved over my phone and every cell in my body screamed at me to call him. And tell him what was going on and how much I needed him. But I couldn't. It would only make me seem like some leach. I ghosted him for almost three weeks now ever since that day we went out... Calling him was going to be wrong.
