A limp, black-tinged translucent thing, no longer shimmering silver, no longer alive. The Prince came to a stop a meter away and watched her expectantly. In the silence, Anzi’s mind whirled, working furiously to deduce what was happening. But it was clear as day even if she didn’t understand the reason behind it. This dragon, this mute, mutant, misshapen dragon with no name, was able to deaden the poison tendril with his mere presence. “I think we have a solution,” she said crisply as she turned back to Kai. “Now I just need you to get out of the way.”

His face contorted into a frown. "It was worse than I imagined. The plague, the death, everything has gone worse. We managed to slip some of our men into Everus's border. The plague, it's everywhere, nowhere is safe and the two kings are so full of themselves that they don't seem to notice what is going on." he whispered and her eyes widened. "I thought magic flourishes in Everus, can't they use that to solve the plague? I mean, I know it's banned here but Everus?" Maven shrugged.
