Each sound like a countdown to something catastrophic. The office was warm, the scent of cedar and whiskey lingering in the air. Xander closed the door behind us and turned to face Simone. “Alright. Two days. What do we need to know?” Simone didn’t sit. She paced. “She’s not just a witch anymore,” she said, her voice clipped. “She’s transcended. She’s feeding off the blood of witches and wolves alike. Sacrifices. Old magic. Things you don’t read about in any usual spellbooks because it was too dark, too forbidden.”

he said for Simon to frown. “Where’s Grace?” He asked for the butler to go call Grace who was at the attic working. “Sir Simon” Grace greeted cleaning her dusty hands. “The madam, where’s she?” He asks for Grace to sigh. “She has a cooking class with the governor's wife today,” she said for Simon to frown and immediately he left. Driving towards the funeral home, he called Alex. Alex just arrived at the funeral home but he still sat in his car when Simon's call came up.

Simon was well aware of Uncle Viggo's animosity toward him, and the only reason he hadn't already killed him was because he had a strong wolf by his side at all times to protect him. Devil had instructed Simon to track down Scarlett. There was no way for him to find her quickly since she hadn't yet developed a smell. However, he recently discovered the school she attended thanks to Mace. When he finally did see her, he carefully observed every move she made, which led him to the party she ultimately attended. Simon doesn't have any special feelings for her, unlike Devil. Since his wolf was inside of him, he was able to feel everything the wolf felt.

Grace tried to soothe him, patting his back, "What's done is done. Mya is safe, and that's what matters. Remember what the fortuneteller said about her being blessed? Perhaps she'll find a good man who'll treat her right." Simon grumbled, "Just thinking about that man makes my blood boil! He's no good!" Grace quickly escorted Simon upstairs, then hurried down to ask the maid to bring the medicine. The maid approached Grace tentatively, "Mrs. Harper..." Sensing the maid's hesitation, Grace urged, "Go on, speak up. Don't hesitate."

She went pale, “What does that mean?” “Mordecai is obsessed with his strength. He prides himself on it. He comes from a long line of werewolf warriors. He’s probably relished… breaking werewolves. Letting you escape with your connection still intact means he’s been itching to get you back in a position where he can try again.” She shuddered, and I growled, “He won’t come near you.” Grace’s eyes widened, and she smiled, glancing at Matt before her eyes twinkled, “Thank you.”

It was probably nothing, he thought **. Adams led Ichabod to a small house close to the market’s street. They had parked Simon’s car somewhere close, so they had to trek. It was already getting dark and only few houses around had electricity. Ichabod followed, wondering whom they were about to meet. Was she a sort of witch or a demon? He couldn’t say, yet his curiosity got the better part of him. As they got to the balcony of the house, Adams pushed the door opened and they were enveloped by the blackness of the interior. Ichabod could perceive the scent of dried herbs mixed with chemicals.

They turned back as if they had known exactly their boundaries and respected them. Simon sat on the chair behind a desk in his bedroom. He flipped his laptop open. The screen lit up dimly at first but then its brightness adjusted automatically. A pop up box displayed: Enter password. His fingers click-clacked on the buttons. He found his browser app and searched for Peter Brooklyn. The man was famous. He had lots of followers for his blogging website. He spotted some unrelated topics like the mystery of zodiac signs, understanding your temperament, and how to expel ghosts… He finally spotted the topic about reincarnation. He began to read.

Simon paused, his eyes staring straight ahead, "I will feel it." At the edge of the forest, they reached a hidden cave covered in dense foliage. Grace immediately pulled Elara inside. Inside the cave, they met an old man with a white beard who wore a tattered robe, but his eyes were full of wisdom. "You've come at the right time," he said in a low voice. "Simon will not stop until this girl is dead. But, there is a power within him that is stronger than he realises." Grace took the old man's hand, "Help us, Wilhelm. We need protection. Elara... she's too young to face this."

He had a lot of women present literally drooling over him as he stood there, smiling widely and exchanging pleasantries with anyone who cared to entertain him. Simon had not changed one bit; still as charismatic as he always was. He outstretched his arm to me, and I took the hand after only barely a second of trying to resist, and instead of walking inside right away, he bent to whisper against my ear, "I was right about you and Grace being the same person, wasn't I? You are not really dead, are you?" I almost froze, not expecting the question at all. But I caught myself before I would give anything away.
