Clara’s hands began to shake. Another message appeared beneath it. I can still feel your hands on me. The phone nearly slipped from Clara’s fingers. Her breathing became uneven. She—" I knew what she was getting at and interrupted her, "I was born in the same hospital as you. I'm an orphan, so Mom and Dad adopted me."
