Even though I could have stayed back home, I wasn’t one to give up and had already committed to the advanced training and, of course, wherever Kellen went I would be sure to follow. However, as the weeks went by, I realized how awesome the advanced weapons training was. We worked with daggers, long swords, samurai, battle axes, fencing, and countless other blades. I think I have found my calling. Wilson told me I was a natural and was extremely impressed with my throwing skills and accuracy.

After saying those words, Keyller somersaulted on the bed and landed exactly a meter in front of his target. With a quick movement, not giving time for Stanford to escape, Keyller brandished his sword, slashing it from the top and slicing it downwards. Stanford's chest was cut open and blood spurted out like a faucet at full power. His hand tried to punch Keyller, but Keyller did another slash and Stanford's left hand was cut off. He bellowed in terror. His eyes bulged in shock as blood sprayed everywhere.

It smelled of truth. Kaelen moved with a grim, determined purpose, stripping off his fine tunic and replacing it with a simple leather jerkin. He chose his sparring blade, not the ornate, weighted sword of ceremony, but a plain, well-worn steel longsword that felt like an extension of his own arm. Its balance was perfect, its grip familiar, a solid, unyielding reality in a world that had become a nightmare of whispers and silence.

smiles Henry. They roll their eyes and walk away from Henry, cleaning up the field. “How did your training go, Kelanar?” asks George in-between the loud thumping sound of his tenderizing mallet. “It wasn’t terrible. Swords are tough and I have many bruises, but I show up the boys with a bow,” says Kelanar. He laughs and smiles at her. “Atta girl. I knew you would put these boys in their place,” “What about sword fighting? Are you having trouble with it, Kelanar?”

“Instead of throwing a punch, I was able to get to her neck. One more millimeter over and she would be dead already.” The bleeding had already stopped, but the fear that was placed in her raged on. All the men nodded in understanding. “For training purposes, I have accessed rubber blades for us to practice with. As Kyle passes them out, we will use these to get used to using fighting with a dagger. I want to see slow movements. Each time the dagger touches your opponent, I want you to freeze, look at your technique, and adjust if needed.” As everyone broke off into their groups, Ethan walked up to me. “I prefer a double bladed sward.”

Putting Killer to sleep. They stood face to face to trade punches, and Junior used his right hand to wield a knife, which cut Killer with every strike of his right hand. Junior was blocking some of Killer's assaults, therefore Killer was also blocking some of Junior's attacks. The posture was loud since spectators were chanting for Junior and Killer in different parts of the arena.

But I assumed he didn't know that. In the shadows the suggestion of a crooked smile appeared l, "Your beach, is it?" I swiftly lied, " it belongs to the family I work for. I-" No doubt I'd be causally discussing the weather with him next. " I have the permission to be here." When he took a step forward I instinctively stepped back. " I know self- defense, so don't try anything. I am a black belt in Ju-kwando." A brief chuckle of deep laughter preceded the dropping of his hands and another forward step. " My clothes are behind you. And for future reference it's ju-jitsu or taekwondo. Nice try. But I won't bite you."

But standing dead center in the middle of the ring, holding a pair of heavy, silver-weighted training daggers, was Kaelen. He had stripped off his button-down shirt, wearing only his black athletic shorts. His broad shoulders and muscular back were gleaming with a light layer of sweat, the thick contours of his torso shifting beautifully as he spun the blades with effortless, terrifying precision. He stopped the moment my sneakers hit the dirt of the arena floor. His burning blue eyes locked onto mine, his breathing steady despite the intensity of his workout. The rich scent of pine and winter rain immediately swirled around me, suffocating my senses.

I was a prisoner who happened to have a bigger bite than they expected. Kael leaned his weight off my shoulder, standing a bit straighter now that we were in public. He looked at a nearby guard. “You,” Kael barked, his old Alpha authority bleeding back into his voice. “Bring us two practice blades. Now.” The guard didn't hesitate. He ran to the rack and came back with two heavy wooden swords. Kael took them both, testing the weight in his hands before tossing one at my chest. I caught it by the hilt, the rough wood familiar against my palm. A small, genuine smile broke across my face.

He fought with the absolute, ice-cold focus of a man defending his family. Xander deflected the knife arm with a sharp slap to Kaelen's wrist, the sound of bone fracturing echoing in the ring. Kaelen dropped the blade with a scream. In the same fluid motion, Xander stepped inside the man’s guard. He delivered three rapid, devastating strikes—one to the solar plexus, one to the throat, and a sweeping kick to the back of Kaelen’s knees.
