My Scared Mate
"As in... werewolf pack?"
Jayleen's expression confirmed my fears. I felt my heart pound against my chest. Werewolves were a part of folklore, of bedtime stories to scare children. They couldn't possibly be real. And yet, the man standing in front of me, the man who had been silently watching over me, claimed to be one.
"Yes," he replied, his voice as steady as ever. "We live among humans, Skye. Our pack resides in this very town."
It was surreal, too much to take in. Yet, a part of me couldn't help but believe him. His sincerity, his concern for my safety, it all felt too genuine to be a lie.
