“He… he actually tried to hit on you! After our old grandpa literally kicked your doors down!” Every time I looked at the coffin of Aquila, the grand ‘gift’ my uncle had presented like a bouquet of flowers—I lost it all over again. I finally wiped my tears, then I heard my uncle snorting. “Hey kids, I’m not that bad at flirting you know. I still got it,” he said, puffing out his chest. “If given more time, I’m sure Ennoia…”

"Congratulations, my dear. You are truly amazing. You got a scholarship at Harvard University. And this morning, the headmaster of your school called me up, and announced that you'll be recognized as the top awardee in your Senior High School graduation rites." Her uncle is filled with genuine appreciation. "I'm so proud of you!" Alfred Lui reaches out for his niece's hands and squeezed them as form of congratulatory. Her uncle continues, "You were also asked to play at the governor's ball on the end of the month. I never

Her chest was choked up, and she became dizzy. "You have been put under the care of your uncle. You will continue your training as a Shërà with him as your guardian, till the day you are to be betrothed. You may leave." She couldn't remember how she stood or how she walked to the tent's entrance. When she came out, she saw her uncle standing outside. His telling smile said it all. Her father wasn't killed by enemies, He was killed by his brother.

Vanessa looked at Alfred, She grabbed Mara’s hand and left the sitting room in hurry. “ So this is the girl you want to marry? I’ll never Approve of this” Uncle said and they left the house in Anger. Alfred was Speechless, he followed Vanessa out of the sitting room and saw her pacing around in the garden. “ Where did you know him?” He asked and Vanessa turned around. “ Why do you care?” she asked with a smirk on her face. “ Please tell me” he pleaded. “ Your uncle is a scammer” Vanessa said and Alfred Chuckled. “ My Uncle, a Scammer? I touched her at the sacred stone and… she came back.” I stared at him blankly as my mind couldn’t catch up and couldn’t process.

“I thought that he had already accepted things however… When Chloe turned five, he started to rebel. In the end he could not succeed and so I have no choice but to let him be banished away from the pack.” “It was already too late for me to realize that he took the poison with him…” My father sighed as he briefly recounted the happenings during my childhood. While it was news to Blake and the rest, the matter about our uncle was not a secret to the people of the pack. The only thing that surprised them was the fact that my uncle had the poison as well. Blake nodded in understanding and mentioned, “My beta had gone to chase him… Hopefully we can get the antidote.”

Spike and Star’s cute barks calmed him as he kissed them both, clutching them to his chest. Then he continued. “My chaotic family was the reason I never wished to introduce you to them. They are cold-hearted, self-absorbed, and power-hungry people, following the stupid traditions that only favor them. And my uncle is the biggest moron, a vampire who has stopped eating to maximize his powers.” His eyes burned with rage as he growled. “Grandpa’s response made it clear that Uncle had spread the news of your divorce in our community. Gosh, I want to kill him!”

“What I do know is this, you won’t escape your family’s shadow this way. But there is one path. One way for you to stand as their equal. To stop being a puppet.” Madeline swallowed hard, her body tense. “What is it?” Nathaniel moved closer, until he was only a single step away. He leaned down, his face so near she could feel the steady rhythm of his breath. “Marry me.” Madeline jolted, her eyes wide. “What?! Are you insane? You're Ethan’s uncle! How could?”
