Sera cried, voice breaking, silver sparks spraying helplessly from her trembling fingers. But Damien was already there. His wings beat once, hard and the sky ignited. He dropped like a meteor, claws outstretched, and smashed into the fox with earth-splitting force. Fire roared from his jaws, engulfing three of the tails in a burning inferno. The stench of scorched fur and sulfur filled the air.

He would drown his guilt in fire. --- The skies over Qombinia turned crimson at dawn. What began as a whisper in the outer cities quickly became a thunderous truth — the borderlands were under siege. In the eastern reaches, dark-winged shadows blotted out the morning sun. Vampire banners fluttered in the wind — crimson eyes gleaming beneath blackened armor, their fangs glinting like daggers. From the west, green fire scorched the forests, as witches on sky-brooms and shadow beasts hurled curses that split the air like thunder.

Put a heavy hand on my shoulder. “He’s a golden dragon, Leah. An army of frost wyrms is no match for him. They’re creatures of ice, and he breathes fire hot enough to melt steel. He’s young, yes. Inexperienced, yes. But his instincts are ancient. The dragon knows what it’s doing even if the boy is still catching up.” Another explosion of flame split the sky. Through a brief gap in the storm I saw a wyrm tumble downward, fire eating through its frozen scales as it spiraled toward the mountainside. The ground shook when it hit.

Spitfire had no idea what he was actually planning and it was better that way. "Auras don't weigh anything, you big idiot." Spitfire snarled through gritted teeth. The wings were starting to flicker. They were getting farther and farther from the bridge. "I can't let go of you to snatch any of these demons who are falling past us." Spitfire had pulled them out of the range of where the demons who were still tumbling off the bridge were falling. Not one of them had wings or any other power that Spitfire could steal to help them out of this predicament. The no-fur was sweating, straining to keep the wings whole and get them back to safety.

My vision spins, but I push myself back up. I can’t stop now. The beast comes at me again. I close my eyes and dig deep. I feel the power inside me…the light, the fire, the part of me that’s growing stronger every day. I let it rise. My body lifts off the ground again, and this time, wings made of silver flames burst from my back. They shimmer like moonlight. I fly straight at the beast, dodging its claws and slamming a ball of fire into its head. It screams and stumbles, but still doesn’t fall.

" They hopped in their car and peeled out, leaving me alone outside the venue. The wind bit into me. I tugged my coat closer and waved down a cab home. All my stuff had been thrown outside, dumped across the doorstep like garbage. The maid looked sorry as she said, "Mr. and Mrs. Swain told me you have to leave and never come back." I didn't charge in to yell at them. I just packed up quietly, then walked away with my things. That very night, I got on a plane out of town, heading to a hidden research base run by the National Space Agency. Just before I left, I texted everyone, "I, Wanda Swain, am officially done with the Swains for good and by choice."

As he neared to me further, I dropped my body from the edge of the cliff and let my body fall freely under gravity. A painfully deadly howl escaped from his wolf and soon I took flight upwards in my dragon form. I saw him watch me take flight and disappear in the reddish, endless sky. The Cliff of Fires was a typical battlefield for Dragons and the deadly looking, sharp mountain peeks always burned with fires spread across them in different hues of green, blue, orange and red. As I was about to circle around a peak, a sharp scream echoed in the air and I knew it was the scream of attack and not from any scout or hunter- it was a painful scream of warning from Kai’s wolf !

Atlas retorted through gritted teeth. However, the firefighters would not let him go closer, and his heart-wrenching screams echoed throughout the villa. "Get out of the way! Let go of me! Naomi! Naomi!" Suddenly, a massive explosion came from the villa. The beams holding it up snapped and collapsed. In that instant, Atlas disregarded everything and pushed the firefighters aside with all his might. "Mr. Payne!" Someone yelled as burning-hot air rushed toward Atlas. Childhood memories flooded Atlas with terror, making it impossible for him to move. However, the thought of Naomi suffering terribly in the fire made it impossible for him to stay put. He covered his nose and screamed Naomi's name

As the witch drew in breath, the flits floated away from Rori, and as they passed further from her, Rori could hear the sound of fading screams. Rori shoved her hands above her head and lifted her toes to a ballet point before she spun around four times as quickly as she could. The action halted whatever spell Mina seemed to have on the flits and as the witch sucked further, the flits released Murdok’s flame and the wall of dragon fire sailed through the air, blasting Mina in the face. The sudden rush of powerful flames caused Mina to scream in pain and as she tried to cover her burning face, she felt the flames dig into her arm like a rabid dog.//

“Impossible-” Wings of fire unfurled from Freya’s back, vast and radiant, their feathers forged from golden embers. Her hair streamed upward in currents of molten sunlight. Her eyes burned, not mortal, not borrowed, but as twin cores of dawn. Every line of her body blazed with raw sovereignty, not given, not inherited, claimed. Freya lifted the Sword, her voice rising steady and final above the storm. It was not a scream. It was a vow. “This flame was never yours. It was waiting for me.”
