Kai asked, his voice back to its normal, bored drawl, though his chest heaved slightly from the effort of shifting so quickly.
"No," I sobbed, pressing my hands against Nash’s chest. "But he's not breathing right. Look at the arrow! It's Wolfsbane, but... it's different."
Kai crouched down, the mud squelching beneath his bare feet. He leaned in close, inhaling the scent of the wound. His nose wrinkled, and he pulled back sharply.
"Not Wolfsbane," he corrected, his tone serious. "It's Nightshade Concentrate. Military grade. Synthetic and highly unstable."
