My nails dig into his skin, leave deep trails. He slams his forehead into mine. The crack echoes, blood blinds me. The world swims but I don’t let go. Rafael look at me, “May I-” I pull my free arm back and slap him as hard as I can. His head twists to the side, and a little oof breaks from his lips. He grips his chin between his thumb and forefinger, and moves his jaw from side to side. “I deserved that.” “Yes you did.”

The foreman was furious and he said, “You’re quite the talker. Where the f*ck did you come from? How dare you stop my work. “Ah, I know. You must be a resident of this area, right? If you haven’t reached an agreement on the compensation, you should see our boss. Why the f*ck are you talking to me? “Get out of here!” the foreman shouted. However, Adrian delivered a backhand slap to the foreman’s face as soon as the foreman’s voice died away. The foreman toppled over from the impact of the slap. He was rendered speechless and was about to get up when Adrian raised his leg and stepped on his face.
