With a swift, sharp motion, my palm connected with his right cheek, the impact sending a shockwave through my arm. The slap echoed off the walls of the cramped cloakroom, the sound reverberating through the air like a crack of thunder. The noise was loud, a sharp report that seemed to hang suspended for a moment, a testament to the intensity of my emotions. Alexander's head jerked to the side, his eyes widening in surprise, as the red imprint of my hand blossomed on his cheek like a fiery brand.

Her aim was true and he shouted out in pain as the mug hit him right on the forehead. “OW!!!!” He growled, gripping his forehead and her eyes grew wide for a moment before she rushed over to see how badly she had hurt him. She apologized profusely, only to find him smiling as a small trickle of blood ran down his forehead. “AW! You actually care.” He grinned, earning himself a slap before she spun around on her heel and sat down behind her desk.

My hand shot up and that one slap I gave him earlier will now feel like just a pat on his cheek to him because now, at that exact moment I slapped him back to back 3 times. Yes. Three. And those slaps were so hard that on the last slap his head slammed with a glass hanging decoration that was hanging just beside his head. But it didn't do much damage because there was only a little scratch of blood on his forehead. Or at least it looked little to me. Everything and everyone froze for a moment or a decade, I don't know. I just knew that the feeling I was having in my heart was of pure hatred towards the man who was standing in front of me clutching his cheek.

Her mind dissolved, a wild, frantic repudiation. No! Rhea's hand burst out, fueled by a surge of adrenaline and sheer, unfiltered rage. The slap echoed in the small bathroom, sharp and biting. Zane recoiled, his head turning to the side, a red bruise expanding on his cheek. His eyes, when he glanced at her once more, were no longer teasing. They were stunned, then quickly covered by an explosion of something hurt and dark.

His impeccable black suit spoke of his dominance within our elite family. Unbeknownst to me, Greg had been silently approaching me with a menacing stride. His simmering rage was palpable. "You little brat!" he snarled before I could flinch, his palm connected with my cheek. The force of the slap jolted my head sharply off to the side.

I tried to stand, my legs shaking like a newborn fawn’s, but as I managed to get upright, he whirled around. A psychopathic grin stretched across his face. Crack. The force of his slap sent my world spinning. My cheek exploded in pain, and I hit the floor harder than before.

Slap! Greg’s face burned. He covered his cheek and stepped back in anger and embarrassment. “You slapped me!? Have you heard of Red Foundation…” Slap! The young man slapped him once more before he could finish. “Bullshit. I’ve heard of Red Foundation but I just don’t give a shit.” Slap! A third slap landed on Greg’s face. “Greg!” Faye and the others were worried. If Greg got hurt and they did nothing, he would surely come after them next.

I swallow hard, throat suddenly dry. “You’ve got some significant bruising along your back, hips, and shoulders from the slide. No breaks, though. You were wearing your helmet, which prevented anything more serious with your head. We ran scans. No signs of bleeding or swelling. Just a mild concussion and some memory fog.”

He growled as he crouched low to my level. He slapped me hard again, and my head snapped sideways. Pain flared hot across my cheek, the skin screaming as though it had been scalded. Then, another slap on the opposite side, my head whipping the other way. The world blurred for a second. My eyes watered, but I refused to let the tears fall yet. And again, another on the first cheek. The sting multiplied, my face feeling like it had been pressed into fire.
