I duck into a side street, hoping to lose them. Bad choice. One of them is already there. They surround me, cutting off my escape. The stench of alcohol fills the air. One step closer, brushing a filthy finger down my cheek. “You smell expensive.” My hands shake. My knees lock. They don’t see it—don’t smell it. But my wolf does. And she’s done waiting.

“Told you wolves were disgusting. Come on. Let’s go before they scent you.” Ugh

Knowing that I might not survive this strange wolf, I close my eyes and use my voice for one last time. “If you're going to kill me. Make it fast” As I brace myself to be torn apart, a deep masculine voice wafts through the thick air. “Where's the fun in that, little wolf”

I said to myself as I went back into my room, where I was assailed by the foul odour. It was as if a man who hadn’t taken a bath in a long time had rubbed himself all over my sheets. How could anything smell this bad? ‘There are groups – wolves that are little better than rogues – that spray themselves with the worst smelling scent known to mankind to hide their scent.’ My wolf said. “Wouldn’t it be better to completely mask your scent than to announce your presence even before you’re seen?” I asked my wolf, scanning the room yet again.

My blood began to boil just hearing her voice and how she didn’t care. “Yeah, I’m back here, in the garage”, I call back. “Ugh, you know I hate it in your garage; I could get dirty”, she moaned. “Storm, no! let me do the talking. Control yourself before she knows something is up. I wanna see if she will come out with it on her own,” I tell my wolf.

Blood dripped down my face from the cut ,the wolf got close to me ,the pungent smell of its rotting flesh assaulted my nostrils as it got closer to me . I could feel my heart pounding against my rib cage as silent tears streamed down my face. '`Get away!",I screamed, waving the branch at it. The wolf stopped growling and started sniffling the air and then it did the most peculiar thing,it took a step back and sat on its hinge legs and just looked at me.

Evely had a sentimental look on her face as she talked to Sophia, "Gosh! Let it go Sophia." "Don't start making those faces now and go read some books too." Sophia cut her off rapidly, trying not to break down. Sophia's hate for wolves was never a secret, everybody knew, her close friends, far friends, everyone knew, some said she was delusional, while others said she was mad, she was brave, lots of different comments. "I know this won't work, happy reading but I doubt you will ever find one." Evely said.

Vivienne, on the other hand, threw her arms around my neck, whispering how glad she was that I was finally awake. I couldn’t keep myself from telling her exactly what I felt. “That makes one of us.” And then it happened. I could feel my gut clench in an excruciating twist. The smell was overwhelming – practically intoxicating. When I saw them, I couldn’t help but wonder whose idea it was to bring about this sort of cruelty upon my wake.

He said, wiggling his eyebrows at me. "Yeah. I guess I had so many things on my mind" I replied, wondering if he was immune somehow to the stench of this place, perhaps another advantage of the wolf. And although in school, we were thought that members of the dog family, wolves inclusive, have a keen sense of smell, I still couldn't help but analyze that somehow the wolf in Jeremy had perhaps helped him to stay immune to the evil smell. Because if he wasn't, he wouldn't be wiggling his eyebrows like he was up to some mischief. "I see…" He muttered, furrowing his eyebrows.

Frank Kilburn stomped back into his office after questioning the two fools. If Lenny thought he’d believe that he took on eight wolves and got out alive, he was as much of an idiot as he looked. He doubted Lenny even saw McDonnell at all. But seeing the white wolf was telling. Lenny knew exactly what Sapphire looked like in her fur. If McDonnell was there for real, then he too knew.
