She stared at the smiley face of the woman in front of her with tears streaming down her face. "That’s enough! Don't smile anymore! Don't smile!" Vivienne threw herself at her. "Don't smile anymore. Cry if you're sad." "I’m not sad, I'm happy. I can’t stop being happy. I'm smiling. Can’t you see it? I'm smiling. Why would I be sad? I’m just smiling.”

“You’re messing with me, aren’t you? I can never tell when you do that? Why don’t you smile or something?” Why don’t you smile. You wouldn’t believe the amount of times I’d heart this question. I gave him the answer I always did. “I don’t smile.” Simple and short. “But you do.” I looked at him. “Excuse me?” “You do smile. When you’re stepping on the skulls of your enemies. It’s a scary sort of smile.” I shrugged. “Guess that’s the only thing that brings me joy.”

Hearing that, Erika stopped laughing. And with a moved look, she told him herself.

He tilted my chin up, looking directly into my eyes. “You know,you are kind of ugly when you cry.” I gasp through my tears,my head snapping up. “What?” A grin played on his lips, “ In a cute-ugly way. The kind that makes you look like a sad little meekart.” I didn't know when I burst into a watery soft laugh. He chuckled too brushing hair out of my face. “There she is,”he said. “I was starting to think you have totally lost your smile.”

I asked him. “Because I saw them walk past us from behind,” He replied, still wearing his smile. “Do you not ever stop smiling?” I asked, slightly irritated by his never-ending smiles. “Ummm,” He placed his fingers over his lips and thought for a while. “Well, yeah. I have shed tears before,” He replied excitedly. “When was that?” I asked him. Maybe if I knew when he cried, I could infer what made him smile less. No, I'm not evil.

A smile smeared on my face. Boom!

He could at least try to act like he cared. After staring at me for a while, he burst out in laughter. "Hahahahahahahaha!" He laughed ecstatically, "That's a good one right there! You almost had me for a second" he said as he wiped a tear drop from his left eye, smiling like he was high on some narcotic substance. He stared at me while smiling and noticed that I wasn't laughing. Hell, I wasn't even smiling at all.

You look even more beautiful when you're smiling and laughing. Madison was able to comprehend what Dexter was trying to suggest. If she wanted to put on an act, it was not difficult for her to smile and chuckle. In spite of the fact that smiling and laughing did not necessarily bring about healing, Madison allowed a feeble grin to form on her lips. She echoed, "I'll try, Dexter," as she continued.
