Snow Crash Audiobook Novels & Stories

Her voice brightened. "Sabrina, I'm sorry," Hana gasped, her voice strained as if she'd just sprinted a mile. "You were going too fast for me." I spun around, but the world was a blur of swirling white. Snow. It was snowing. Big, fat flakes were falling so heavily I could barely see my own hand in front of my face. The wind howled, whipping the snow into a blinding frenzy. I felt a shiver crawl down my spine, not just from the cold, but from a deeper, more unsettling fear. Where was Sabrina? I couldn't see her anywhere.

"You can't go inside!" Flames roared as the building groaned, collapsing to the ground, with a loud clattering sound. Snow's body went limp in Mykel's hand. "A... Aurelio," she whispered before passing out. Melissa covered her mouth with her hands as tears streamed down her cheeks. Tessa fell to her knees, her eyes wide with tears on her face. Rhodes, Gael and Storm stood still, frozen. Sin kept on struggling to release himself from their grip. "Aurelio!!!!!!!!".

The snowmobile's headlight grew brighter. Then— A deafening crack echoed through the mountains. The avalanche hit like judgment day. The world inverted in a roar of snow and screaming metal. The snowcat rolled three times before coming to rest upside down, the windshield shattered into a spiderweb of cracks. Jeff's weight pressed against me, his body curled protectively over mine. Blood dripped from his temple onto my cheek, warm against the biting cold. "You with me?" His voice was rough with pain. I spat out snow. "Define 'with you.'"

It is giving him a renewed energy and strength to once more find the light. "I, Snow Saunders, a healer and Luna of the Sky River pack, am setting you free from whatever bond that my healing has bought you. Go back to your world and live." Snow?! Snow is here?! He doesn't know where he got the strength, but when he heard her utter her name, he instantly awoke. "Snow!", he exclaimed the moment he opened his eyes. "Blaze, thank goodness, you're awake!"

She could have helped me… We could have prevented this. My vision starts to become all too real as I stumble over a hidden tree root and fall to the snowy ground, soaking my clothes. For a moment I just lay there, accepting my fate. If my vision showed me laying dead in the snow, then there’s no escaping from this. I close my eyes, letting the snow fall on me like a blanket. Ruby… My eyes snap open when I hear Atwood’s voice inside my mind. “Atwood?” I say out loud, scrambling to my feet.

“Please—our daughter—” The figure stepped closer. Then the tree fell.bA massive branch, snapping from the weight of the storm, crashed straight into the hood, throwing the car sideways, jamming doors, trapping us inside. I screamed. Mom screamed. Dad’s voice went silent. Snow filled the cracks and corners. PRESENT The SUV slid another half-meter toward the drop. Jake slammed a hand on the dashboard. “Damn it!” The figure outside lifted something—a phone—and its screen lit up blue through the snow. Recording us. My chest closed.

I could see him getting anxious and restless in anticipation. "You sure you want it?" I asked, my voice coming out deadly and sharper, laced with Snow's tone. He shook his head greedily. "Yes Aurora yes! Give it to me already!" His voice boomed. "Then take it!" And I let all the energy flow out of my hand straight at his chest. He welcomed it with his arms stretched out and started absorbing it, not knowing what I was actually doing. His figure started to glow with the white light as his feet lifted off the ground slowly. He laughed in victory, enjoying it.

Happy muttered again, but there was no response. “Arghhhh!” Snow screamed, the tingling sensation of a hundred coals burning her skin; it felt like she was on fire; it was harsh and unbearable. Everyone stood up in shock, wondering what was happening, all gazing at her with concerns. “It’s Burns,” Snow yelled, and Ms. Happy’s eyes dimmed in worry. “Someone get the Alpha here now.” Ms. Happy yelled, and Snow stood up from her seat, her head so heavy, and she collapsed to the ground.

I fall asleep, smiling at the idea of Snow and I finding a place that we can call home. I’m not sure how much later it is, but the sun has moved in the sky so that it is no longer hitting me. I open my eyes, wondering what woke me. I turn my head and see that Snow is moving around, agitated. “Snow, is something wrong?” I ask him. He turns to look at me and it’s at that moment that I hear a loud crack, followed immediately by Snow’s scream of pain.

Ariel left the clinic and walked slowly through the snow back to the family housing compound. When she reached the entrance, she found Remi standing there, his brow furrowed. "Where were you?" His tone softened slightly. "Are you really not feeling well?" He wanted to be angry, but her face was so pale that she really did look sick. Ariel's voice came out flat. "Yes. You pushed me to the ground yourself just now. Don't you remember?"
