CHAPTER 12 SOFIA Sophia stood in the kitchen with her parents, the aroma of freshly cooked breakfast filling the air. Her mom was expertly flipping pancakes, while her dad was setting the table. Sophia smiled as she cracked eggs into the skillet, feeling grateful for these quiet morning moments with her family. The warmth and love in the kitchen was palpable, and Sophia felt at peace. As she watched her parents work together, she couldn't help but think about her own relationships and the people who brought joy to her life. Sofia says her first word on a Tuesday. Not "Mama" — that would be too expected. Not "Dada" — also expected. Her eyes were so puffy, yet she claimed she hadn't cried. He pushed a bowl of porridge toward her. "I just came from the hospital. Dennis is awake." Lisbeth put down the eggs, but after a pointed look from Sebastian, she resumed using them. "I'll go to the hospital right away. I've been so busy lately that I haven't spent enough time with Dennis..." She felt like a failure as a mother.
