Rain

Rain

To win the war, she had to be smart and fast. Smiling in victory, there were three things she was certain of. The old man was hiding something, someone had broken into the house—it was creepy and scary to think someone was in her room, watching her while she was asleep— unaware. Finally, Raven was certain she was getting close to the truth. “ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN?” The soothing voice lingered through her head, she had forgotten about the mysterious voice. A lot was going on in her life. “You’re still here,” she muttered calmly. It didn’t feel weird anymore—talking to someone she couldn’t see.

she hissed. Camila chuckled lightly and earned a glare from Joan “Oh please, it’s too funny to let it pass without laughing,” she shook her head then stopped laughing and gave a serious look “It is an inviting offer but weird, what if you were some serial killer who kills rich handsome men for a living?” Joan looked at her in disbelief and shook her head at her assumptions. “What exactly are you reading that is giving you these ideas?” “It’s a crime documentary darling, and it gives you a sense of security somehow” she shrugged.

The Gift That Wasn't

The Gift That Wasn't

The relatives around started whispering, pointing at me. “So, that’s Kevin’s ex-wife? She looks decent. Why is she so shameless?” “I heard she delivers food. She’s probably broke and trying to freeload a meal.” “Such bad luck. She just ruined the holidays.” I actually found it a little amusing. Without rushing, I unbuttoned my coat and took out a thick stack of documents, slamming them onto the table one by one.

What Butterflies Don’t Tell You.

What Butterflies Don’t Tell You.

“We are starting with…(don't know that information yet). I arched a brow. “What’s that? I thought we got rid of one of those?” Her eyes rolled. “I have a bunch of these for different occasions. This one’s for study. That one was for daily activities.” I folded my arms across my chest. "Why am I not surprised?" “Haha, very funny.” She slides the textbook to me and moves her chair closer to me. Leaning forward. “So…” I drag her chair closer to mine so we are just inches apart. “There, I don’t bite, hun.” They ignored me. “Open to chapter three.”

This was very well written. No unnecessary and prolonged details. I think my only wish would be an epilogue that contained some more details wrapping up a few things about what happens in the future. I loved this book. I really did.

She, His Enigma

She, His Enigma

Then, without a word, she turned and vanished into the dark. --- She moved through the mansion like smoke. In the library, the scent of old books curled around her—dust, leather, and ink heavy in the air. She didn’t linger. Her hand moved with precision, pulling book 1017 from the shelf. A romantic novel. She shook it. A folded paper fell free. Blank. She frowned, flipped it over. Still nothing. The silence around her thickened as she carried the page to the villa’s abandoned study. The curtains were drawn shut, as if the room had been grieving in private. She ran her finger along the heavy desk—wood soaked with memory, with decisions made and lives destroyed.

Billion Dollar Regrets: 21 Nights of Payback

"She wrote what she saw. We write what it was." "The inside of the inside," she says. "Yes," he says. She thinks about it. The twenty years since Night One. The five years before that, the first time, before the arrangement, before everything. Twenty-five years of the specific inside of being them. What she's never said to anyone. What she's never even fully said to herself. The underneath one. She thinks about what Damien said in Edinburgh, in Hope's apartment, when Hope asked if she taught her anything back. The inheritance works. And how Hope said: The knowing that the next person will know.
