I poured my heart out about everything I had put up with over the past three years, especially all the lies and betrayal from this past year. I told them everything—from Queenie's sweet talk and empty promises in the beginning to our pathetic excuse for a "wedding". I also told them how she dumped her grandfather and Adam on me the second she got "transferred" and then just checked out completely. I then spoke of the truth I uncovered, right up to the absolute shitshow at the wedding. I told them everything quite calmly, yet tears streamed down my face continuously.

The moment she saw me she spoke “I swear I did not tell it to anyone I have been home, and you too know this right then it is impossible that I would have told this to anyone” While she said all that she was running out of breath. “Breath” I told her to make sure she does that. “Did you see this?” she asked me and made sure that the volume was high enough. She really thought I was not aware of it. “Yes” I replied, and she looked at the TV again. “Michael, I swear I … “I gave them this information” I stated. She was looking at me in shock as she was not expecting this also she was not aware about this she thought that I will never let people know.

She asks, “Who the hell are you, and why are you at my Boyfriends house?” I get up slowly, dusting off my clothes, taking a few steps forward and face her boldly. “Who is your boyfriend?” She responds, “Brandon .” I stare at her, shocked by her response . But I don’t engage remembering I can’t win. She’s a wolf, and we are all alone. “I am the mother of his child.” She is shocked into silence. I chuckle. “I presume you don’t know about his son yet Noah?” She stammers. “I heard the rumours, but—”

She sighs, setting the book on the floor in front of her carefully before leaning back, turning her head toward the campsite with a distant look in her eyes, biting her lip. ‘What’s troubling you?’ I ask in our private mind-link, sensing she does not want to speak of this around her family. ‘Oh, I forgot we could talk this way.’ She forces her lips to bend into a smile. ‘Nothing.’ ‘I hardly think that sort of sigh means nothing,’ I tell her. She nods so lightly, I barely perceive it. ‘You’re right, of course. It’s just that the story in there troubles me, the one about Hadrian.’

I look at her now, sleeping under hospital light, wires mapping her body like a territory someone else already claimed. “Why didn’t you tell me?” I whisper. She doesn’t answer. The monitor hums steadily, indifferent. I scroll again, searching for more. There’s nothing else. No long threads. No dramatic confessions. Just that first email—and then a carefully managed trail of appointments that blend seamlessly into the life we were living.

“You always do what you’re not supposed to.” “Only when it matters.” Silence. Then— her voice shifts again. Lower. More serious. “There’s something else.” My focus sharpens instantly. “What?” A pause. Longer this time. Hesitation. Fear. “I didn’t tell you everything before,” she says. “I know.” “No,” she shakes her head slightly. “You don’t.” My grip tightens. “Then tell me now.” She inhales slowly. Unsteady. Like she’s about to step off something she can’t come back from.

She continued revealing the story which has been kept masked by her over the years. Slowly the book of her life was showing itself, the long dusty covered book was going to speak itself now. “But! There was something so unusual about you, my child”, she looked her in a long astonished look, she had questions in her eyes, too much-perplexed look on her face made Murphy taken aback,

I needed to cut her off. "Look, they're doing the walking around the fire thing." She said. I hummed non committal. "I read about it in this book by Drethi Anis. Five thousand nights of obsession. The book was so good." "You read?" I asked. I had never seen any book in her apartment or caught her with a book. "Yes." She blushed, then quietly. "Romance books." "You don't strike me as the romance type." I looked at her intently. "Is it one of those raunchy books with shirtless men carrying scabbards on the cover."

surreal. [Is this your new number? Can I send you a photo?] “S-Sure..” In less than a minute, her phone vibrated and she looked to see what the image was. A soft gasp came from her mouth as she clasped a hand over it. It was a whole bookshelf dedicated to her book. She knew because her book’s banner was above it, and what’s more shocking than to have your debut novel’s own shelf is that the shelf is empty. They were sold out.
