The reality strikes me hot; Adonis tenses under my fingertips when I reach for the back of his neck. My lungs burn as I pull back, my other hand still gripping the front of his shirt like I need something to hold on to. The room is in chaos. Applause and shouting ring from all around, cameras flashing so fast it feels more like lightning. But none of that matters, for two reasons… one, my body still feels the force of that kiss. I stepped back into a corner of the room, my breathing rough and shallow as my hands trembled with a sudden, freezing emptiness.
