“You should be,” I said, letting my thumb brush lightly against her cheek. “But I’ll forgive you—on one condition.”
Her wide eyes snapped back to mine, curiosity and a hint of wariness shining through. “What condition?” she asked, her voice unsteady.
“You don’t pull away when I do this,” I said, tilting her chin up just enough to capture her lips with mine. The kiss was slow at first, meant to remind her of who she belonged to. Her initial hesitation melted away, and when she sighed against my mouth, I deepened it, pulling her closer until there was no space left between us.
