They’ve got earpieces, just like secret agents.” His face lit up. “Really?” “Really,” I said, ruffling his hair. He grinned and dashed out of the office, leaving silence in his wake. Sonia turned back to me, her arms wrapped around herself. “You can’t do that in front of him.” My chest clenched. “Do what? Care about you? Want you?”

A male was communicating with Sonia. Marcus wanted to barge in, but I stopped him. They spoke for some minutes then stopped, and Sonia said, "Our parents are outside." After that we didn't hear anything and after opening the door, we saw Sonia sleeping. "She is asleep," I said patting my daughter's hair. Was I hallucinating when I heard her voice? I looked at Marcus who gave a confusing smile and I knew that he also thought he was hallucinating. I laid beside Sonia for some minutes, before looking at Marcus.

Anger rippled through me, as my fist clenched by my sides. ‘Calm down, C.’ Sonny’s voice rang through the mindlink as he and Hudson moved toward the door. ‘Come on, the dining room is open for food. We will eat, then go for a walk. Fresh air will do you good, while we discuss today's meeting.’
