There, I'm just another player trying to keep his head above water. The house is dark when I pull into the driveway, which means the guys are probably still at the freshman party. Those things never end before midnight—it's tradition for the sophomores to keep the newbies out as late as possible before orientation, some twisted form of hazing that everyone pretends is just fun. I should probably be there. Should be doing my part to traumatize the next generation of college students. Instead, I'm too tired and looking forward to falling into my own bed for the first time in two days.

The kitchen looked destroyed. I didn’t care. Lucas had icing on his hearing aids again and Chloe had somehow gotten buttercream in her hair. Neither of them had stopped talking for longer than the time it took to swallow. “Mom,” Lucas said, and I still wasn’t used to it, the way that word landed in me every single time. “Can Chloe and I have a sleepover tonight? Since we’re actual siblings now we’re legally allowed to have sleepovers whenever we want.” “That is not a law,” I said.

I suggested, removing the bottle from their reach. Emma squinted at the wall clock. "Is it that late already? I should get home." "You're not driving," I said firmly. "Neither of you are." Ruby yawned dramatically. "Sleepover at Vivian's! Just like in the human movies!" Emma's face brightened at the idea. "Yes! Winter Moon Festival sleepover!" I looked to Nathan for support, but he merely shrugged. "They seem set on the idea." "Fine," I conceded. "You can both stay in the guest rooms."

Please, unless you two are thinking about buying me therapy sessions, can we not do this in the kitchen?” I laughed, going scarlet as I hid my face on Nick’s shoulder. “We’re sorry!” No, you’re not,” Zach shouted as he passed the door. “I will be in the guest room, trying to make believe I never walked into this." Nicholas smiled wickedly at me, and his grin returned. "I guess we will have to carry this on later. Ideally, when the overprotective brother is not within fifty feet." I giggled, being still warm from his touch. “You’re impossible.”

His eyes met mine as he said that and he winked. Lexi looked as though she was fighting back laughter. If she was in my position too, I'd be laughing. Two hot guys fighting over me. I must have achieved some unusual attention in this last year of high school. From being unknown to magically having two of the hottest guys in school wanting me. “We can reschedule for tomorrow.” She directed me. I nodded. Lexi understands. There's no way I'm leaving any of these guys here alone. “Sure. We can make it a sleepover.” I offered it as a peace offering. We will need to talk over what she just witnessed.

He took out his phone to text on the boys group. 'Guys, they are having a sleepover without us. What should we do?' Both men texted the same thing at the same time. 'What are you guys talking about?' Lennon asked. 'Sana and the girls are having sleepovers, so I'll be kicked out of the house tonight.' Alex said and attached a crying emoji. 'Seems like your condition is worse.' Sebestian commented, at least he is not getting kicked out of the house. 'Hahaha, serves you right.' Lennon laughed.

Lucas motions to the pizza boxes. Alice chuckles and gets up to the fridge to collect orange juice. "Feast away your hangover." Lucas chuckled taking out a slice. "We're planning a sleepover tonight at ours. There will be Pizzas, junk food, and countless movies on N*****x. So what's up?" Lucas asked, stuffing a whole slice in his mouth. Lucas and Olivia were roommates in an apartment. "I'm in. Bobby is not in the city and I'd love to come. What about you Elsa?"

she chuckles and I roll my eyes at her as I smile. "Okay, I know. I'm overreacting, but still... I'll miss having those silly night conversations about high school, in my room." My shoulders drop. "Kyrah, come on. What are sleep overs for? I'll be sleeping over and you can also sleep over at our house. Plus, I'll mostly spend more time over here, don't forget your mom's chicken is my weakness!" She smiles and I laugh. "Okay then. Better get going now," I say as I hug her.

We all walked out to the parking lot together, the cool night air feeling refreshing against my skin. Xalia and Tovar waved as they headed to their car, leaving me and Zion alone under the dim glow of the streetlights. "That was actually fun," I said, leaning back against his car. "Thanks for taking me, Zion." He grinned, tucking a stray strand of hair behind my ear. "Of course. But the night isn't quite over yet. You prepared for our sleepover?"
