Storm-Worn Hearts
Liberty’s eyes flicked past me toward the hallway, toward Dawson’s bedroom, then back.
She grinned.
Oh no.
She didn’t say anything, Liberty wasn’t cruel, but the look she gave me was a full sentence:
So. You slept here.
I wanted the floor to open up and swallow me.
Instead, Liberty dropped her bag near the couch and clapped her hands once. “Okay! New plan. We’re having a sleepover.”
Dawson’s brows lifted. “We’re what?”
“A sleepover,” Liberty repeated, already marching into the kitchen like she owned the place. “Because some psycho thinks he can loom at me through glass like a sad vampire, and I say no. I say I get carbs and blankets and emotional support.”
