Eyes On Mine

Eyes On Mine

The crowd was dense, but I pushed through and made a beeline for the stairs. I drew nearer and the individual glanced up and met my gaze briefly before averting his eyes. I kept back a bit, waiting for them to take the first step. Another buzz. I did not even need to check my phone to know who it was. "Close enough?" I smiled and shoved my hands into my jacket pockets and leaned in somewhat and spoke a bit softer. “You the one texting me?” He didn't say anything at first; he just sort of leaned in and displayed those incredible eyes, and I definitely saw the dark iris in his eye.

An Eye for an Eye

An Eye for an Eye

After my eyes were plucked out, I lay on the operating table with two empty sockets on my face, resembling that of a broken doll. Samuel Sterling felt no guilt. He picked up my eyes to examine them and praised them, saying, "Daeleen was right. These really are a beautiful pair of eyes! I promised you, Daeleen. I will make all your wishes come true." As the anesthesia's effect slowly wore off, I could not help but cry out in pain. Samuel finally turned his attention to me as if blaming me for interrupting his memories of Daeleen.

Sheep in Wolf's Clothing

Sheep in Wolf's Clothing

"Give me your eyes." I obeyed immediately but did not look him directly in the eyes. I looked at his nose because I was afraid of the storm in his eyes. "Look into my eyes." How could he command that? I could not. What does he want to see in my eyes? The hurt? The pain? Does he enjoy seeing them now? Does he still think I am a threat even after I apologized and told him that I had never meant to wish him dead?

If I'm being completely honest, I would probably be far worse in my grammar as a native English speaker, so showing some grace & respect is of the utmost importance as Jennifer works hard to bring Laika and Karim to life for the reader. I hope she continues with many more stories or spin-offs.

This author writes so well and keeps me keeps me totally hooked. I can’t wait till the next update every chapter I read. If this book was already completed, I would read it thru in a couple days and not get anything else done except to just totally enjoy the story she has created. Love it!

An Eye for an Eye

An Eye for an Eye

All I could think about was Cher's tear-streaked face. Did she get beaten up? Did Samson starve her? She must be super scared right now. Heck, she'd definitely wail while looking for me. "Cher…" I sobbed to the point I couldn't even breathe. My phone vibrated at that moment. It had received a notification. I jogged over to find my phone without bothering to deal with the blisters on my feet. It was a message from Sylvia. There weren't any captions on the message. All it encompassed was a photo.

Wrong Pair of Eyes

Wrong Pair of Eyes

“Tell me you don’t feel it too. Look me in the eyes and say it.” Mia tried. She really did. But when she met his gaze, the words stuck in her throat. His eyes were dark, intense, filled with a certainty that terrified and thrilled her in equal measure. “I… I can’t do this.” “You’re already doing it.” His voice dropped lower, rough around the edges. “Every time you show up. Every time you let my leg stay against yours under this table. Every time you think about me when you’re supposed to be thinking about him.”

MUST DATE THE PLAYBOY

“You should apologize for bumping into me.” “Are you high on something four eyes?.” Andrei bit out. “You bumped into me...not the other way around.” Anna remembered someone else from a long time ago who’d called her four eyes so it made her furious that this jerk had the guts to call her that even though she was literally wearing glasses.

My eyes snapped open and I squirmed a little. He froze and pulled away, both of us breathing down to catch our breaths. "I'm sorry, I got carried away." He panted. "No, it's okay." I manage to blurt out, keeping his gaze. Did I just permit him to touch me? "It's okay?" He asked again, his brown eyes shimmering with an unreasonable expression. *Oh no* ****

Nothing is Forbidden, Right?

Nothing is Forbidden, Right?

The contact was gone as fast as it had occurred but Isis still felt the warmth of his fingers lingering. He walked around to the drawers of his desk and took out a couple of supplies to clean Isis’ wounds. He came back around and stood in front of her, their bodies sinfully close in a teasing manner. Isis was mesmerized by the rise and fall of his chest, of the way his lips compressed in concentration. “Like what you see?” she rose her face to peer into startling grey eyes. Isis bent her head and avoided his gaze. She heard him sigh. “I am sorry, Isis; I know I shouldn’t say things like that. It’s not permitted.” He responded and Isis continued to hold her breath. He let go of her hands when

I just thought this story was wonderful! The interactions, conversations, personalities were just real, sweet, emotional and fun. Just enough tension to spice it up but nothing stupid in behavior or words. Well done! Loved it!
Kara Lynne Anderson
This was excellent. I enjoyed it and was relieved that the author didn't try to add in a plot twist that would have changed the personality the story built for each character. the characters were so relatable and the forbidden aspect made every encounter filled with all the right tension.
