Stella hung up the phone. When she looked up, Evan was standing in the doorway. He was holding a bowl of soup, his gaze fixed on her face. His eyes were dark, deep, like still water you couldn’t see the bottom of. There was no way to tell what he was thinking. Stella frowned. “What now? Planning to force-feed me another bowl and send me back to the hospital?” The sarcasm in her voice was unmistakable. Evan walked over and sat down at the edge of the bed. “Relax. This was made by a nutritionist. It’s tailored for your recovery.”

Then, Evan walked with a cold expression. He is not wearing a suit today. Instead, he wore a knee-length overcoat with a black shirt underneath. His hair is meticulously combed on his head with a few irregular stands loosely hanging at the ends. He exuded a strong presence with a hint of wickedness. He looked incredibly handsome.

He doesn’t want to be disturbed when he finally has the courage to be a bad guy to her. He entered the temporary shelter of the Vordamorte and started to kill the guard silently. He can not alert his enemy before he can checkmate. So, he used his twin draggers skillfully to kill those useless guards. He left his city just to deal with this problematic guy. “Fuck.” I make a move to hurry back inside and maybe lock things down again, but the guy just marches toward me and enters the shop without a word. For some reason, he’s also holding his breath, which makes me wonder if I really stink that bad. “Hi, I’m Evan,” he says robotically. “Mr. Sartori’s cousin and assistant. He sent me here to give this to you.” He hands me the flowers, and I try to take them from him but my too-weak hands lose support and send the flowers falling to the floor. He doesn’t pick them up, resorting to just giving me a rictus smile that tells me he’s not too fond of me.

The kind that belonged to someone who believed the space was theirs. “Adrian?” The voice was smooth, familiar, devastating. He clutched the towel tighter, heart hammering. Slowly, he stepped into the living room. And there he was. Evan. Dressed in a crisp suit, hair slightly damp from the drizzle outside, suitcase resting by the door. His dark eyes swept over Adrian like a tide reclaiming the shore. “You look well,” Evan said, as if he hadn’t been gone two weeks. “I see you’ve been eating. Sleeping.”

He leaned over to shake her hand. Kat looked at his outstretched hand in absolute disdain, but forced herself to shake it firmly. Through clenched teeth, she said, “The pleasure is mine,” “Please sit down, I have some news to discuss,” Evan sat back in the chair. He made a quick survey of her appearance as she obeyed him. All five-feet-three of her was clad in a hideous black suit that obviously wasn’t tailored to her shape as it hung loosely over her figure. Her face was devoid of make-up and her hair was fashioned into an untidy bun.

On the stairs, Evans stood nervously, his eyes staring at Nathan whose eyes had darkened with desire and he was focused on himself. Evans couldn't help but look down at his clothes in suspicion that he wasn't dressed well, but he was still assured that he looked dashing. Before he appeared downstairs, he had checked himself in the mirror and he truly was wowed by himself.
