As the Vane siblings and Lyra stepped inside, the air tasted of ancient pine needles and cold, sterile electricity. It was the "Emergency Exit" their father had built for a world that had finally ended, and as the engines hummed to life, Leo felt the violent tug of Earth’s gravity calling them back.

And my recent nightmares are related to the birthmark on my body. Whenever I fall asleep I dream that the birthmark on my body comes to life and turns into a man holding me from behind, slowly touching my body and kissing my back, then suddenly turns into a big wolf, crushing my bones bit by bit ,hardened eyes stared at me with a deadly gaze, and finally opened its mouth to tear my body apart.

I tried to speak, but my throat was so dry. Eve quickly leaned closer and gave me a sip of water. "Don’t speak, just eat.” Her face was pale, but she forced a gentle smile. I looked up at her and whispered, "Eve, you’re alive. I’m so glad." She nodded, tears in her eyes, and tore off another piece of meat, pressing it to my lips. I clenched my mouth shut, shaking my head frantically. Eve’s gaze was firm. "Emma, you need to stay alive. There’s hope as long as you’re alive."
