Its venom was a potent neurotoxin that could cause paralysis and respiratory failure in humans within hours of a bite. Craig read out aloud the treatment records for the last patient who suffered from this type of bite, ‘Antivenom extracted from Qilin Spiderbane’s leaves and flowers can neutralise the effects of the spider bite. It can be found on the southern slope of Valour Ridge, about one point two kilometres away.’ Callie stared at the computer screen, committing the appearance of the herb to memory. Its broad, lance-shaped leaves were a lustrous emerald green, glinting with iridescent veins.

“What are Spider Ferns, Mama? And why do you need them?” Estella knelt beside the plant, brushing a strand of hair from her face as she began to explain. “Spider Ferns are a very special plant, Devon. They can be used to treat poisons. The plant itself is highlight poisonous, but if handled correctly and mixed with the right herbs, it becomes a powerful antidote for almost any type of poison.” Devon’s eyes widened in amazement. “So, it’s a poison that can cure poisons?” “Exactly,” Estella said, smiling at her son’s quick understanding. “But because it’s so dangerous, I need you to stay a bit further back while I gather it. It’s important to be very careful.”

It's beautiful, mommy. “It is," she giggled, tapping on my nose lightly. “Just like you.” I laughed. “No! It's more like you, mommy!” “It is not truly a lily, but the flowers are no less resembling a calla lily. I read about them while researching the plants when I was in school.” Her sweet voice smoothed my mind when it rang in my head. “Spathe flower and cobra plant are its names, which they go by.” A slow but sure slight curve of my lips told me. I was smiling at the distant memory embellished by my mother.

came Lila's gruff voice. I walked inside, blinking my eyes. Lila was over her desk. "Um, Elder Lila?" I said hesitantly. “I brought the herbs. She turned and her eyes widened when she saw what I was carrying. "By the Moon Goddess," she breathed. “Actually you did. I nodded and carefully placed the herbs on her table. “Moonflower from Whispering Falls, Ghostly Orchid from Misty Hollow, and blood rose from Crimson Meadow. Lily's twisted fingers hovered over each herb, her expression a mixture of fear and suspicion. "How?" she demanded. "How did you manage?"

It was like a black rose growing in the night. After leaving the living room, the two slowly strolled along the cobblestone path in the west. There was a corridor in the back garden of the main residence. Above their heads were spider plants dotted with red and white flowers. Even the pillars were decorated with spider plants, making the space look lush and beautiful. The two walked along the corridor and Arabella raised her hand and touched the spider plant above her head. “It would look even better if this was a wisteria flower.”

Lily looked at me again before her voice came out soft and shy. "The plant in front of us is called a Lycansbane," she said, and I was taken aback for a moment. I looked over the table, studying everyone's expression. Lily was obviously not bluffing. I looked at the plant once again. How was it possible that there was something such as a Lycansbane? "What?" I whispered, still in shock. "It is to Lycans what wolvesbane is to werewolves," Lily explained further, and suddenly my seat began to itch at the discovery.

“Those spiders, they can crawl up trees.” The image alone made my skin crawl. Chest-high bodies, bloated abdomens, long hairy legs. “Isn’t there somewhere safer? A cave or something?” Kael shot me a brief, cold, annoyed look. “Safer? We’re in a cedar grove.” “Cedar trees?” “Spiders hate the smell. High resin content. I’m sure they won’t come near this area.” I hadn’t known that. There were no trees in my district—only moss and hydroponic plants, rare and expensive. I didn’t say any of that to Kael.

Her senses came back. When she looked around, she saw mountain of pitiable corpses. Most of these corpse's body was dismembered, cut spotlessly while some have horrifying hole in their head. The ground she stands is full of nasty blood as if it was a pool of a crimson sea. Although the air is filled with its foul smell and very suffocating, she can breathe normally like there's really nothing. She unfortunately woke up in another nightmare.

Then, how could she be sure that Tenzel, who died of humiliation, would treat them kindly when he returned?
