“Alright, spill… You said you had something important to tell us,” Asteria said to Angie,
“Oh, right…” she said, “Well, Roger…” she paused.
“Proposed? Is he in danger? What?” Asteria was eager to know.
“He is not human…” she said, and out of all the things I expected her to say, that was definitely not one of them.
“What?” I asked,
“Yes, he is not human; he happens to be a nightcrawler…” She opened the collar of her shirt, and at the curve of her neck, she was sporting the branding of a creature, not a Lycan, not anything known, but indeed it was a mate mark.
