Chapter Twelve Elena’s POV The lights dimmed. The bass from the DJ’s booth pounded harder, like a heartbeat echoing through the underground club. Spider’s voice cut through the haze of smoke and perfume. “Tonight,” he shouted into the mic, his grin wide and sharp, “a new angel graces our stage. Fresh, pure, untouched. Give it up for… Angel!” My blood froze. Spider’s hand shoved me lightly between the shoulder blades, pushing me toward the golden cage. “That’s you, mouse,” he whispered near my ear, his breath hot and dangerous. “Angel. That’s your name now. With that golden hair and those doe eyes, you look like one.”

The spider is too powerful and fast, catching up to them. It directs another sharp arrow at them, this time nearly hitting Anna. “Airen, it is now or never!” She shouts. “We must find its weak spot!” Airen nods. “Hold on!” He growls. The dragon does a backflip which nearly throws Anna off but she grabs onto him. For a brief moment, they fly underneath the spider, which gives Anna a glimpse of flesh among the metal body. “I see it!” She cries. The spider covers its weak spot and hisses loudly, spitting out venom from its mouth. Some of it grazes Anna’s arm, causing some burns but she ignores them.

The elevator door opened and I walked down the hallway until I got to my apartment door. I punched in the codes and the door unlocked but I was not prepared for the sight that welcomed me. “Surrender now, doctor octopus! I'm not your regular villain!” And with that, Easton raised him up and threw him on the couch.

She asked angrily "I've been waiting for you to come only for you to spend the night with the boss?" He asked angrily She sighed and turned her head sideways. "Spider, you just let me be!!" She yelled into his face. He covered her lips immediately with his and she tried to break free from him. "I've been waiting" a voice came from the stairs. They both stopped and turned immediately. "Amaya, um.." Spider called as he saw Amaya looking at him with her hands akimbo.

I turned the first page. “This is me at five,” I said, pointing to a picture of me missing my front teeth. “I wanted to be Spider-Man, so I climbed the tree in our backyard and got stuck. Dad had to get a ladder to pull me down.” Cameron snorted, the sound so quiet I almost missed it. I flipped to another page. “That’s my mom and dad on their anniversary. They’re disgustingly in love. It’s embarrassing.” Cameron’s fingers twitched, his eyes lingering on the photo like he couldn’t look away.

The woman's eyes widened in shock, her body trembling, as her body suddenly began desiring his rough touches, her breath hitched, and slowly her anger melted away. Spider just held her tighter, his grip like a vice. "I've been doing your bidding for a long time," he whispered, his voice low and husky. "But it's not because I'm afraid of you. It's because I like you. And I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe, and ensure that you're happy.” The Woman's eyes flashed a mixture of desires and anger. Spider noticed it, but he just smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement.
