Their faces were concealed behind solid, featureless silver visors, and they carried long, heavy halberds etched with dark, pulsing runes that hissed in the cold air. Behind them, a massive, broad-shouldered figure clad in a long, wolf-pelt cloak stepped onto the platform, his heavy combat boots clicking with a slow, agonizing deliberation.

The shockwave blew out every remaining glass monitor on the bridge and sent Kenji sliding across the floor. The "invincible" golden shield of the alien god held for a millisecond before spider-webbing with cracks. "Break!" Sebastian roared, unleashing a localized burst of Zero-Point energy directly from his knuckles. The shield shattered into a million pieces.
