"Damn this shit!" the king of witches whispered before yelling "Everyone towards that thing!"

The entire place was quaking and blood poured again from the fountain in a raging stream. The glass floor broke and a gigantic creature black as charcoal emerged from the blood pit. Len and Tirana ran off from the splashing boiling red and they watched in horror as the creature reveal itself. It was an enormous whale, completely black and featureless other than dripping red, hovering thirty feet in the air by unknown means. The human half of the mermaid was on top of it, exactly where its blowhole was supposed to be. "I got everything under control! We shouldn't fight her!"

Elijah asked incredulously, and just then one of the creatures rose out of the water, did a flip, and dived right back in. "Well, I'll be damned." Jason said under his breath. "These are what we're taking from our people? Mermaids." I couldn't believe my eyes, but I had to believe them, after all, people had said they'd seen them earlier too. But the sight of it made me so weak that I fell against Elijah. "Hey, hey." Elijah cooed, holding on to me, because I couldn't keep steady by myself. "I don't feel too good." I said softly, and to be honest, I really didn't. The world was beginning to spin and everything was growing dimmer and dimmer.
