She brushed her hand over her cheek, and after a brief pause, she started talking about what she had gone through over the past year.
“After the company dissolved, I went into debt paying for liquidated damages. You know my family’s situation. My parents are biased, and all their money is for my brother. My creditors kept asking me to pay up, and because of them, I couldn’t hold any job for long. I could only go abroad…”
Her voice was soft, and she looked at me sadly, hoping that she could see even a trace of pity on my face.
“What does that have to do with me?” I walked past her coolly, but in the next second, she grabbed my arm.
