Please Stay
" He says.
I can hear the confusion in his voice.
I continue the poem in my head.
'Will you please... stay.'
Yes, that's it!
I need to note this down.
I grab a sticky note which I store in my pocket. I write down 'stay' with my the only pen I have, a red ballpoint.
I open my eyes to see Xavier in his hopital bed clutching onto my hand, his head placed on my arm.
"Xavier?"
He looks up, tear stained and red.
"For as long as I live, I will stay with you. I love you for you." He says, lifting his finger to twirl my blue-washed curl.
