I watched Rhyker standing behind the counter and flipped the scrambled eggs with his pan, he was shirtless and wore a white apron with black joggers. He had one particular tattoo on the back of his neck, it's a drawing of a crown, the crown of Rosla. He whistled while making scrambled eggs. "Are you awake Hemilia? I'm sorry I wasn't in our bed, I wanted to make breakfast for you." He said not looking at me, I gawked at his strong and broad back that is able to give comforting hugs from him. "What's the special occasion?" I chuckled and walked toward him, he turned around and smiled.

It wasn’t Jacob. The wolf closed in easily. I stopped the horse, knowing escape was impossible. Better to die with my family than hide in cowardice. Jina and Kate moved to protect me when they saw the wolf. They growled at the beta, and he snarled back before shifting into his human form. “Don’t fight. Come with me—it’s what’s best for all of you,” he warned. “No! Go back to your kingdom!” I yelled. He chuckled. The man was middle-aged with a long scar across his face.

Something else stirred within me—something that shouldn’t belong to a mere werewolf. A hybrid. Just as the Dowager had warned. Elyra smirked. “Interesting.” She flicked her wrist, sending another wave of black veins shooting toward me. I dodged at the last second, slicing through them with a blade of silver light. But I didn’t see her. Tasya. She lunged from behind—too fast. Pain exploded in my shoulder as her teeth sank into me, ripping flesh. Blood poured down my arm. I staggered.
