She glanced back down at the leather-bound book resting on the floorboards beside her. The empty pages seemed to stare up at her, daring her to turn them. With a trembling hand, she picked it up again, the leather warm against her palm. She knew she should get up, should finish unpacking, should do something practical, anything to distract herself from the throbbing between her legs. But she couldn't. She was hooked. The anonymous writer had become a guide, a seductress whispering secrets into her ear, and Pinky was a willing student, desperate to learn every lesson.

Chapter 15 Hadley It’s strange how one’s fears always come true. He asked the question that has been replaying in my mind on an endless loop for the past three years. My heart had only just calmed when it started racing again. “Please just let me leave, you don’t need to see me again. I won’t tell anyone about your town. Please just let me leave.” I beg as my body begins to shake. “Sweety, we don’t want you to leave, please, calm down. Why don’t you take a bath and then when you are ready you can come and talk to us?” Avery speaks softly, still rubbing my back in comfort.

Sunshine Children’s Home was bustling with noise. Colorful banners were strung across the courtyard. Dorian and Summer, presented as a model philanthropic family, stood with Cody, preparing for a media interview. I avoided the front entrance and climbed over the iron fence into the back courtyard. It was damp and cold, thick with the smell of mildew. On a set of steps in the corner, I saw a little girl no older than three. She wore thin, worn-out clothes, shivering in the wind.

After separating from Sebastian, I went to live in a small city in Astora. The air here was fresh, and the pace of life was slow. It was perfect for healing my weary soul. I opened my own coffee shop with my savings from my past life. Every day, I kept busy selecting beans, grinding coffee, and brewing drinks. My days were hectic but fulfilling. I spent two peaceful weeks in this small city just like this. One day, I was wiping tables in the shop when the wind chimes at the door rang and someone walked in. I looked up to see a tall, handsome man holding a small cat in his arms.

“I was angry that he lied to get rid of me, but mostly because this whole matter just made my papa look like a fool. But since my papa doesn’t really feel affected, I don’t either. Whatever happens is for a reason. Like Isobel’s entry in the capo’s life.” “I agree with you. It could’ve been anyone. But mysteriously, every incident just led him straight to Isobel and Alessia. What could be the odds?” “I’ve heard their story and I find it very touching.” “Yeah. So you’re not mad.” She shook her head with genuineness in her eyes. “I came here to let you know I started editing my manuscript. It’ll be done in a few weeks, and then I’ll start sending the query letter to literary agencies.”

Its sharpened edge came in contact with my skin and I shivered, waiting to see what would happen next. "From today henceforth, you are my girlfriend. Hold on, that's just to my family and anyone that's related to me. Such a rank can't be bestowed on a….." he suddenly stopped in his tracks the moment he heard me sobbing. Brandon dismissed me immediately and retired back to his room.
