No More Time Together
“I checked a few times. I don’t see Denise Summer on the list.
“Are you sure she came back here to repeat senior year?”
He stood motionless as he muttered, “I-I’m not sure.”
Ever since the PSATs had ended, he and Denise had been talking less often.
All he remembered was that when she got her scores, she decided to repeat the year.
After that, they never really discussed anything about school in detail again.
At a loss, Corbin thanked Margaret awkwardly.
He then picked up his suitcase and headed back to the neighborhood.
He had run out of ideas about where Denise could be.
