Chloe began crab crawling up the bed and out of the way, completely naked and only slightly aware of that fact. She was more so alert to the crazy woman who somewhat resembled her best friend, Veronica, now coming at her. Jonathan came rushing into the room and looked around. Seeing Nicki and Chloe naked and used condoms everywhere, he immediately flung himself at Nicki.

I wasn’t entirely sure how to respond to Lucas’ words. I just watched in horror as the scene in front of me. The sight of blood everywhere. I couldn’t figure out what was more disturbing. The dead bodies and blood or the sight of Lucas, who had transformed into some monster.

“How can you sleep watching a real murder documentary but get scared of fake stuff like Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street?” I clear my throat. “Leatherface is based on a true story, so no. Michael Myers isn’t that scary, but the jump scares get you. Freddy Krueger is disgusting. And Friday the 13th depends on which one.” He shakes his head. “Get your ass in this bed.” I laugh, close the door, crawl under the covers, and settle onto my side, facing the TV. I set the sleep timer and let the show play. As the first episode starts, I feel myself drifting. I can feel Zade’s eyes on me.

I rolled my sleeves up, gazing over the recently closed cases, and filing them into the proper categories. Vampire Shifter. Ghost. Demon. Boogeyman. Etc. I'd make a new file if we came across a new type of monster. The scent of strawberries filled my nose as Lucy plopped onto my lap, setting her laptop down to scroll the schedule. I brushed her longer blonde hair over her shoulder, peppering kisses against her throat. When we were human, her pulse would jump, but her reactions were still the same. She quickly opened the cupboard. Empty. There's nothing there. Stacy rummaged through the wardrobe and the hanging clothes. But couldn't find anything that made the cupboard move. If think about it logically, of course that doesn't make sense. Because the vibration in the cupboard was enough to suggest that there was life in it. Dissatisfied with what she saw, Stacy let out a shaky breath. Closed the cupboard door and turned around. "Aaaaaa!" For the second time the girl screamed.
